Guest guest
Namaste Souvik, You've presented a very interesting observation. We should also note that the Mayan culture seemed to have been influenced heavily by Rahu. Their building decorations and symbolisms depicted many images of the Snake, a symbol of Rahu. As a culture based on the qualities of Rahu, the Mayans were succesful in many advanced studies in astronomy and mathematics. However, their culture also showed grim images of human sacrifices and games of death, as evidenced by the Mayan's preoccupation with the game of using a rubber ball played in a special court where the losers as put to death. As Rahu is inscrutable, their culture also disappeared mysteriously. Many scientists have speculated as to why their culture vanished. Some say it was due to the lack of food supply to support the growing population. It is too bad that much of the Mayan texts were burned by the Spanish friars, who determined the subjects of the texts to be influenced by the devil. Had the texts been available, we could have learned more about the Mayan culture, beliefs, and sciences.
