An astrologer predicting 'his own death'

Atleast two major national news channels in India are right now (Oct

20, 2005; 1400 hours) telecasting an event live which would be of

interest to the group members.

An astrologer residing in a remote village in District Betul of

Madhya Pradesh has '' predicted his own death today on Oct 20 between

1500 hours and 1600 hours of Indian time''.

He belongs to a family of astrologers and the predictions made by his

father and him have had an uncanny knack of being proven correct over

last few decades. Hundreds of local villagers and those from

neighbouring villages have gathered at the temple and are praying for

his life.

Despite the media hype of claims that h has predicted his death, his

wife has said on media that he has said that the conditions are such

that his death is a distinct probability.

Dear All ,

 

These are the kind of things which give bad name to astrology . Ok , so the

person is alive ( I saw it on the tv just now at about 1800 hours India )

and people are calling him fake . But people are going to remember this and

denote astrology as fake .

 

On the other hand , if the person had died as predicted , a lot of hype

would have been created whereby all shady elements would have made big gains

.. So that way too astrology loses .

 

 

If I remember correctly , however , Mr. Jeevanrao Chitnis , a renowned

Jyotishi , based in Mumbai had registered his prediction of his death by

date and time using his method of solar return . He died a natural death on

that date . This event occurred about say thirty years ago .
