Namaskar Shri Bharatji,

I beg your pardon!

Are there any "nirayana equinoxes" also? Are they

Lahiri equinoxes or Ramana Equinoxes or Fagan

Equinoxes or what? What are their criteria and when

do they take place?

Thanks and regards,

Mohan Jyotishi

Namaskar Shri Bharat,

I appreciate your advising us to go outside at night

and see the constellations behind the visible planets.

I have a couple of questions:

1. What do you men by constellations? The 27

divisions of nakshatras of 13° 20' each or the actual

constellations?

2. How do you link the constellations with

astrological Rashis? What is the starting point of

these constellations and what is the starting point of

those Rashis? Do both of them start from any single

point/str or do they start separately --

constellations from Krittika as in the Vedas and

rashis from Mesha as is happening today?

3. Wherefrom does Mesha Rashi start and who has chosen

that starting point? Is it an arbitrary starting

point or is there any significance to the same?

4. When was that starting point selected and why? Does

it have any scriptural or astrological or astronomical

significance?

5. As showm by Shri Abhi, Bhagwata states that Mesha

Sankranti is the Day of Spring Equinox and Tula

Sankranti that of Autumn Equinox. You deny these

statments and naturally, according to you even

Bhagawata is not correct regading astronomical

matters.

What then is the relation of Mesha and Tula Sankrantis

to Spring Equinox and Autumn Equinox respectively

according to you? Since when have these two Rashi got

delinked from the two Equinoxes and who delinked them

and why?

6. If Bhagawatam is not to be believed in such

matters, what shastra, if any, would you like us to go

by? Or is it that according to you all our shastras,

if they advise us to follow a tropical zodiac, are to

be thrown into dustbin since they go against our

nirayana "Vedic astrology"? Do you have support of

other "Vedic astrologers" on this point also or is it

just your own view?

Thanks and regards,

Mohan Jyotishi

The dates for Sankranti are different for Siderial and Tropical. This has been

the crux of Sri Avtar Kaul's email too.

until

To Sri Abhi's statement that under the Tropical system on the sankranti the day

and night are equal, was my response.

Did I say something wrong to evoke such a response from you?

Thanks and Regards

Bharat

First of all, I have already maintained Aynamsha is not the root for

deciding whether Astrology is vedic or not. I have raised this again

and again but you are stuck on this point of deciding the Vedicness of

Astrology by use of Ayanamsha.

Did I say that Vedas use tropical or sidereal system? Do not put words where they do not exist.

As showm by Shri Abhi, Bhagwata states that Mesha

Sankranti is the Day of Spring Equinox and Tula

Sankranti that of Autumn Equinox. You deny these

statments and naturally, according to you even

Bhagawata is not correct regading astronomical

matters.

Please show me where have I denied these? All I am saying is that

your assumption that at such a point day and night are equal is wrong.

They are not equal at that time and you can check it scientifically.

I am ignoring the rest of your questions as they stem from your assumptions of what I say.

I am only concerned with Astrology being called Vedic or not. I will

call it Vedic Astrology. If you wish you call it anything, it is up to

you. I do not need sanction from other vedic/hindu astrologers for the

same.

Thanks and Regards

Bharat
