Guest guest
Dear Group Just saw Harry's mail, where he said that he is unhappy with the present situation. Hundreds of people for whom i made predictions, became unhappy in not less than two months time. Even though prediction goes right, still people become unhappy. I dont blame them. what could be reason? The reason is that we all live lives centered around a particular achievement or institution, person or persons. The soul's true nature is happiness, but in human birth we forget that, and thus we tend to seek happiness from objects, persons and events. But such happiness is not happiness, as it doesnot last forever. Man is a creature of wants and needs. Once the needs and wants are fulfiilled, more needs arise. There is nothing wrong if fullfilling needs, but needs should not be source of happiness. As needs belong to the material plane, and everything in material world as a beginning as well as an end. People expecting children, jobs are happy as soon as they get the thing that they wanted badly, but once that is over, the honeymoon is over. THen the struggle starts and people start wondering what went wrong. My advice to budding astrologers is that not only do you give prediction, but also tell the person that he has to work hard and fend for himself. Give him some empowerment tools, dont allow him to be dependent on you. Only greedy astrologers do that, and the end is that both suffer. GIVE A MAN A FISH and feed him for a day, teach him how to fish and you feed him for a LIFETIME. Regards Partha Partvinu.tripod.com

Guest guest
Dear Raghu When i made predictions, i was giving carrots or fish or whatever you may call it. The net result was that the persons came back with new set of problems. So whenever you make predictions, you should tell them to do regular meditation, yoga or whatever they like to improve body and mind. If you dont give the empowerment tools, what happens is that they keep coming back to you for solving their problems. If someone charges money for these visits, one day it creates a huge load of bad karma which negatively effects the astrologer as well as client, who thinks he is forever indebted to the astrologer. So if someone says that they are having some runa to you, ask him to give some dakshina to a temple so that such a thought goes from his mind. Actually there is no runa if the astrologer has helped the person without expecting reward from him/her. Guest guest
Dear Partha Sarathyji: While your reasoning may be sound, it is limited, and more importantly your advice to budding astrologers is not only flawed but dangerous. My knowledge of astrology is very limited, but permit me to say my 2cents worth. Every person is in quest of happiness; be it seeking proactively in this world of objects or in the myriad world of spirituality. Some people believe that their quest of happiness can be attained if they minimised suffering and hence are in the suffering reduction syndrome. As ordinary mortals, most pursue happiness within their bounded rationality. If they truly realised the soul theory (as articulated by you), they are not trapped in the material world, and as a result wont need astrologers, as much as many other professionals, products or services. It is the same as if everyone was peaceful, we wont need the military and the police. The world was meant to be imperfect. Now, coming to your advice if only astrologers kept to their areas of expertise and be professional, they would do the world a lot of good through their contribution. To talk about empowerment tools, when they have probably less competence or exposure or generally give mother hood statements ( without judging the appropriateness of the situation) would only end up making the caller more skeptical and disappointed. If at all there is anything that budding astrologers should do it is to be empathetic to people's problems and aspirations and not try to play GOD ! As much as we expect medical doctors to help us understand our ailments and give us their interpretation, and help us choose options for treatment, astrologers should restrict themselves to help diagnoise the current state, and give options. And more importantly maintain humility. thanks On 9/28/05, V.Partha sarathy <partvinu wrote: > Dear Group > > Just saw Harry's mail, where he said that he is unhappy with the > present situation. Guest guest
Dear Partha sarathyji: Only after reading this post, did I realise that your theory and practice of advice was borne out of your own limited observation and practice If only the world of problems was that simple that yoga and meditation or any self empowerment tools would solve all them What would you recommend to improve people's perspectives or the intellect or the buddhi which primarily casts or structures the problem? I am not trying to flame you, but in your enthusiasm to solve one problem, you are inadvertently adding a few more ! If a client comes repeatedly to the astrologer, what actions the astrologer should do, is more based on the astrologer's ethics, morals and more importantly spiritual leanings. Havent we know of situations when mothers have taken babies to pedatricians for simple cold and cough repeatedly? Good pedatricians empathize, provide comfort (some charge them, some do pro bono), and some not so good pedatricians prey on the mother's fears, belittle them. But they dont provide the motherhood statements to mothers A client by going to the astrologer repeatdly doesnt necessarily become a catalyst for the astrologer's bad karma. The astrologer decides that, and by his own inclination and learning is better equipped to decide on his own karmic impact by deciding to charge or not charge or deal with it appropriately. If you fear is that it is creating a dependency or a parasitical relationship, just simplying saying so, to the client would help. The bottomline, is that the world would gain much more by conscientious astrologers who steadfastedly practice their profession (by charging or pro bono) than by merely mouthing empowerment tools, the efficacy of which is entirely doubtful especially given the specificity of the situation or the problem. thanks On 9/28/05, V.Partha sarathy <partvinu wrote: > Dear Raghu > > When i made predictions, i was giving carrots or fish or whatever you > may call it. Guest guest
Namaste Partha and Friends, What Partha has said is indeed right and honorable. i.e to tell person based on chart indications, the dieties who will guide them for answers. In this regard What I usually tell is, Ishta Devata: Always advice to worship Ishta devata. Look for an Ishta mantra which is between 12th from Ak in D9 and 5th house in Rashi Chart. If you find it difficult to find a relation, just focus on 12th from Ak. But having a good relation to 5th in Rashi will help native to continue mantra. 5 Dieties: Recommend Pancha devata worship. Ganesha(Pritvi/earthy tattva): Look at Ketu or Badhakesha and recommend a mantra for Ganesha. Try to give a mantra with Glaum beeja (gam + om = glaum) Agni/Fire tattva, Give One of Agni, Surya, Gayatri mantra or Subramanya worship. (I usually try to recommend Skanda/Murugan/Karthikey mantra if Lagna or 5th is Venusian). Try to give a mantra with beeja or "ram". tell them to light a lamp with say "hum ram chaintanyaaya namah" Akaasha/Space tattva: Usually a Ishta Devata form of Vishnu. Vaayu/Air tattva: Shiva Form or Guru Form (Sometimes see if Sun or Moon is strong and recommend Dakshinamoorth or Dattatreya worship). Jala/Liquid tattva: Give a mother form of worship, if the person needs professional success give a Mother deity based on 6th from Amatya Kaaraka(Paalana Devi/Sustaining Mother). See if you can again find a relation with 5th in Rashi. If possible give a "Vam" Beeja (root sound) in mantra. Mother deities are very essential for fulfilment of Moksha(4th House) and Kaama(desires 4th from 4th), Is my understanding. Small modifications to the above list can be made based on individuals desires and ideology. Hope this is helpful, Warm Regards Sanjay P Hare Rama Krishna On 9/28/05, V.Partha sarathy <partvinu > wrote: Dear Raghu When i made predictions, i was giving carrots or fish or whatever you may call it. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna, Namasthe Sanjay Ji, I 100% agree with what you said and I follow it( after I read about Pancha Devata Worship in Sanjay Ji's VRIA). The only difference is, I read ashtotram/sahasranamam wherever possible to avoid any ill effects of bad pronounciation of "beeja" mantras and its not good to pronounce them wrong. As I read "beeja" mantras are very powerful while ashtotram/sahasranamam/universal mantras (like Om namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya/ Hare Rama Krishna/Om Namo Narayanaya/Om namah Shivaya etc) are self correcting. I hope the end result is still the same. This is just to add to what you already stated. Regards, Sai --- Sanjay Prabhakaran <sanjaychettiar wrote: > || Om Gurave Namah || > > Namaste Partha and Friends, > > What Partha has said is indeed right and honorable. > i.e to tell person based > on chart indications, the dieties who will guide > them for answers. > > In this regard What I usually tell is, > > 1. Read about many stories of advanced souls who derived mantra's like "aim", "kreem" from just listening to animals like boars, sparrows etc. In fact animals and nature themselves can be Guru many kinds of knowledge. In fact some beeja mantra are good for starting doing meditations as it's easier to pronounce. Warnings are usually given only about Brahma vidya mantra and such special category of mantras, For which Maharishi's select proper candidates for initiations. Guest guest
Namaste, > If at all there is anything that budding astrologers should do it is to be empathetic to people's problems and aspirations and not try to play GOD ! .............. astrologers should restrict themselves to help diagnoise the current state, and give options. And more importantly maintain humility. Seems to be good advice to me. --- Subba Iyer <subba.iyer wrote: > Dear Partha Sarathyji: > > While your reasoning may be sound, it is limited, > and more importantly > your advice to budding astrologers is not only > flawed but dangerous. > > My knowledge of astrology is very limited, but > permit me to say my 2cents worth. > > Every person is in quest of happiness; be it seeking > proactively in > this world of objects or in the myriad world of > spirituality.
