We in Dakshin Bharath more specifically in Tamil

nadu: Matrimonial matching is done from bride’s

nakshatra to bride-groom’s nakshatra (in some parts of

Uttar Bharath and west-Bengal the practice may be

reverse).We consider the Ooja and Ukkuma rasi

combinations of bride and bride-groom are considered

as subha shad-ashtak with an exceptional combination

between Capricorn vs. Gemini Rasis.

Asubha shad-ashtak (other than the above) match is

avoided because the relationships between the bride

and bride-groom would be of that of a snake and

mongoose.

Antidote for shad-ashtak:

If both the (bride & bride-groom) rasi Lords are

‘ekam’ / the dispositor Amsa rasi Lords are

paramamaithreyam / Samasapthama rasis (except Kumba

vs.Simha and Capricorn vs.Kataka and vice versa rasis)
