Guest guest
Dear Narasimha ji >From the various documents that i have recieved - i summarise the follwoing. Chandra Hari says that Kalapurusha of Jyotisha is Yogisvara Mahakala and Yogisvari Mahakali together engaged in Pranayama and the prana is led across the Merudanda from 240 degree at the bottom to 0 degree at the top (which is called Dvadasantam) across 8 rasis and 18 nakshatras – and it is this fact that made 8 and 18 sacred numbers. 18 Nakshatras across the path of Jyoti Kundalini represented the 18 steps in Yoga and Kalari one which a Yogi and Veera transcended Mrtyu. A beautiful depiction of the fact is available at Sabarimala where the Yogaroodha-Sastha is installed over 18 holy steps. Further, Chandra Hari has pointed out a number of cultural relics that attests the rationale of the Zodiac. Lingam or Siva is the Preceptor of Jyotisha, Yoga and Agama.Lingam is the symbol of Mahakala. Why the Linga-Guru received the appellation "Ganga-dhara". At Pragjyotishapura all the Navagrahas are installed and worshipped as Linga. At Kalahasti Rahu and Sikhi are worshipped as Linga. In all Navgraha temples of Thanjavur-Karaikkal area, Linga is the major deity referred to as the lord of the respective graha – example Siva or Linga at Tirunagesvaram is Naga-nathanm. What are the boundaries of the Prana-Apana realm. Why Prana is referred to as Jiva and Apana as Mrtyu. Why the Kundalini is depicted as sleeping round the Lingam in Tantra works.
