Namaste,

Some Sri Vaishnavas may have some biases and prejudices and may not like to pray

to other gods like Shiva and Navagrahas.

However, when Vishnu Himself came to earth as Lord Rama and Lord Krishna, He prayed to various gods.

For example, Rama prayed to Shiva at Rameshwaram. Krishna too prayed to Shiva.

Krishna prayed to grahas. For example, a prayer for Jupiter known as "Brihaspati

Pancha Vimshati Storam" was written by Krishna when he was at Nanda's home. Rama

and Krishna both prayed to Sun.

Though one famous contemporary Sri Vaishnava teacher does not recognize Lord

Satya Narayana as a form of Vishnu and does not recognize his vratam, it is

simply his view. According to Sage Soota, Lord Vishnu Himself taught Satya

Narayana vratam to Sage Narada.

On all the issues where controversies are created by the rigidity and biases of

a few gurus, the answers are clear if you look at what Vishnu and his avataras

taught and did!!

Regarding Satya Narayana vrata vidhi, you can buy vratam books in most Indian languages in India.

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha
