Guest guest
Dear Kid, These are all totally irrelevant and unnecessarily personal questions. What matters to the list is that Raman Suprajarama presented a brilliant synthesis made from two seemingly disjoint teachings of Varahamihira. Varahamihira defined hora based on Sun and Moon as Parasara did and gave another definition and said that some other people use it. The suggestion that Varahamihira actually expected intelligent readers to combine both and derive a new definition is simply brilliant. It may or may not be correct and his understanding may still have errors. But the very idea is brilliant and opens new possibilities. We should encourage such intelligent research that is rooted in classics, instead of engaging in meaningless personal criticism. I am not a blind supporter of Raman Suprajarama or anybody for that matter. You may notice that I have an issue with a decision Raman Suprajarama made regarding Cn and Le. This kind of unprovoked personal attacks are totally uncalled for and will get people off the list. Narayan, please take action against this person. BTW, based on my private interactions with Raman Suprajarama, I find your claim that he hasn't "studied a single classical astrological text" laughable. He is quite learned, intelligent and humble and I look forward to more contributions from him. BTW, our monthly Full Moon Satya Narayana vratam is tomorrow (Thursday, 8/18) at 8 pm. Those who live near Boston and want to attend are most welcome to attend and have prasadam for dinner. The ritual will take 2.5 hours. I mean grooming yourself as the possible alternative or successor of Mrs GDV ?> 2, Why was Mrs GDV assigned a comparitively insignificant role of delivering welcome speech in Raman Jayanthi celebrations ?> 3, Did you consult your paternal aunt before mailing your findings about Hora to the list ?> 4. What was the motive of senting mails about the paper presented by you to several ?> 5Can you cite a classical authority to validate your findings?Or can you illustrate your findings by applying it to the chart of atleast 10 well-known personalities?> I hope the son of Niranjan will show the courtesy to reply the questions for the sake of members of this list> KID
