Dear Gurus,

I am unable to harmonize the mutually contradictory indications of a

graha in Rasi Sandhi. Very frequently, I come across charts in which a

graha is very close to a Rasi Sandhi e.g. like yesterday (July 12,

2005), when Mars entered Aries. It was in Gandanta, but if you check

it's vaiseshikamsa strength, it was in Sreedhamsa in Dasa Varga

(10/10) and I think Golokamsa (15/16) in Shodasa Varga. Is such a Mars

strong (due to Moolatrikona and maxed out Vaiseshikamsa strength) or

afflicted (due to gandanta, rasi sandhi, state of infancy)?

I have in the past frequently seen charts of people with Raja yoga

conferring planets with such high vaiseshikamsa strength but tightly

within Rasi sandhi. And I was unable to harmonize the contradictory

indications. Please comment..

Thank you,

Sundeep

Dear Sundeep

There are different type of avasthas and baladi avastha is only one

amongst them. A planet confers results due to the various states.

Now for example a planet may be in rasi sandhi but at the same time

it would be in its own house or moolatrikona(Swastha), or exaltation

sign(Deeptha avastha), or it could be in good sayanadi avastha

(Prakash, Nrityalipsa or Sabha).

So giving importance to only one type of avastha is not accurate.

There is no contradiction if you combine all avasthas and see the

strength.

By the way Sun and Mars give results in the beginning portion of a

sign

Mercury througout, same with rahu and ketu

Jupiter and venus in middle portion

Saturn and Moon in the last

best wishes

Dear Partha,

thank you very much for your reply. This probably means that the

chart I have of a boy born in 2003 (my wife's friend's son) is then

quite powerful. I cant share the full data yet, but he is a Cancer

ascendant with exalted Simhasanamsa (5/10) 6,9L Jupiter (Hamsa

Mahapurusha), exalted Devalokamsa (7/10) 5,10L Mars (Ruchaka

Mahapurusha) and exalted Brahmalokamsa (8/10) Sun. Mars is at about 1

degree and Sun is at over 0 degrees but less than 1 degrees.
