Guest guest
Hi, I would like to compare the Chinese 12 year cycle and 12 months cycle interaction with the Jyotish 12 year cycle and 12 month cycle interaction. The 12 year cycle in Chinese astrology begins with Rat year (1984, 1996, etc.) Rat year corresponds to Rat month. Rat month starts around Dec. 8, and ends around January 7. Ox year is next, followed by Ox month. Each month starts around the 4th-9th. Ox month is January 8-Feb 4th, Tiger is Feb 4th or 5th to March 4-6. Dragon (or Big snake) is next (most of April), followed by Snake (or Little Dragon), then around June 8th starts Horse month, then Goat month, then Monkey month (around August 8), then Rooste (Chicken), Then dog month starts about October 8, then Boar month starts around November 8. The Chinese animal years go in the same order. The Chinese calendar began around December 23, 2698 B.C.. The Chinese say that he year changes withe the beginning of Tiger month, around Feb. 4th. mike
Guest guest
|| Gurupaatu || Dear Mike, One book I can remember now is 'Hora Ratnam' it gives the cycles and names of all years. Also refer Brihat Samhita. 12 is for Jupiter, Balabhadra in hora ratnam give names of 5 groups each to give 5 x 12 = 60 years. Which Saturn and Jupiter together cycle. There are names given to each of sixty years. This forms Aroha chakra/Avaroha increase and decrease cycle 60x2=120 Years is one chakra Refer Yuga Calculations article of Pt. Sanjay Rath in his site.
