In his mp3 audio lessons, PVR did mention this as a private lesson from

Sanjay Ji . Mercury wants to get out and play, 4th type of sitting and

reading (learning ) is not liked by Mer.

Mercury is a student, he is vidya karaka. I can understand that he rules play

and playgrounds, but that is what kids do. But they also like to study to get

good marks. This is not an acceptable logic to kill mercury in fourth.

You also have a v.good counter logic. but most of the students

(children) will not like when they are asked to study at home then

playing outside. i think that's Unhappy situation for Budha but as

you said it may not be totally bad such as 'Maran Karka'

Dear Utpal & Partha,

 

i am not much worried about logic, i've Mer in the 4th and the dasa

is running (lot of learning is taking place, but i am not happy

because i want to get out and do my bit, which is not happening).

Also, Jataka Parijata gives that Mer is bad in the 4th (in COVA

Sanjay also says that as per some experts 4th is a bad placement for

Mer (could be a hint).

 

Partha can learn from the horse's mouth and enlighten us. i'll

certainly be happy to learn that Mer is not bad in the 4th house.

Good point you mentioned Jyataka Parijata on this, Vidyanatha calls

it Viphala Or Fruitless position.

 

Anyway, When you mentioned Mercury Dasa and Mercury in 4th. My take

is that all that's mentioned by Sages do come right. But, A BIG BUT

here, the point is When?! will it come true?. The timing is

essential. All that mentioned need not come true in the whole dasa.

Mercury's results in 4th will come only in last part of the dasa,If he

is benefic. And if malefic then in the first part of the dasa.

 

But Viphala or fruitless to whom? is the next question you have to answer.

Dear Members,

 

I think there can be so many things which can modify "merc in 4th"

results. I dont know much of the astrology, But In my case, For Libra

lagna, I have merc (9L-12L) placed in 4th along with exalted

Mars(2L-7L). There is also parivartan of 4L Sani (in 9th)with 9L

merc(in 4th). Also, In navamsha merc is again in 4th along with

exalted moon (which happens to be my AK or in this case as its

navamsha, 'Karakamsa'). With all this, I have been told, My coming

merc mahadasa will be good. I should expect some leadership

opportunities coming as merc is with exalted mars forming Ruchak Yoga

and gains in foreign land and happiniess.

Person with Mercury in 4th should be a mother's pet. Afterall which

mother will not like a son inclined to earn knowledge rather than

wondering around. However, do people study better in home comfort or

they study better in a school/hostel/gurukul? The distraction from

getting the best of knowledges makes such a person unsatisfied.

I also read somewhere, 10th house and 4th house are like king and

minister for the lagnesh. Even if we the king is weak a strong and

inteligent minister will definitely help the subject.

 

Having talked about 4th Mercury, can we say Mercury in other houses

is better? I don't think so. We need a complete view of a chart. My

langesh budha in Leo does not give me the best perception and

intelegence I wish to have. Why? It is aspected by Saturn.
