Dear Bala Gopal ji

Thanks for this information. I know it is important to interpret the

chart as a whole. At the same time each exchanges, yogas etc are

building blocks of a chart; so we need to check those individual

blocks as well.

I am now trying to understand how to interpret 8th lord in 10th. 10th

is 2nd from 8th so it should be interpretated as increase in the

standard of 8th on 10th.

Now how do we interpret this exchange on following conditions.

If 8th lord happens to be Ju?

If 8th lord happens to Sa?

If 8th lord happens to be Ra?

To bring little more interaction, let's take example where Ju conjoins

10th lord Sa or Ra.

Dear P Samal,

Though this query was addressed to Bala Gopalji, I can

share my experiences of 8th lord in the 10th.

First of all, 10th is 3rd from the 8th (while counting include the

starting house). Now numbers like 3, 6, 8 & 12 are bad numbers when

we are looking for good things.

I have sun as my 8th lord, sitting in my 10th house in libra. In

addition it is debilitated. Therefore it is not good for the carrer.

It causes me to be lazy, come and go as I please, not follow natural

rank, vanish at every possible opportunity, etc.

However Sun is also a natural significator of work and 10th is a

good position for it to be. Therefore it does it job, and though it

shines weak, a weak sun i guess is bright enough, because I had a

great carrier so far.

Bottom line is that one cannot view a theorem like "8th lord in the

10th" in isolation.

Pdt Narsimhaji has stated this beautifully in his lectures.

Rather it is to be used as a piece to construct the full puzzle.

Other pieces include

1. Sign of the 10th house, functional nature of the 8th lord

2. Dignity of the 8th lord in the 10th house

3. rashi drishti's on the 10th house for permanent effects

4. graha drishti's and argalas on 10th house for temporary dasha

effects
