Rotation of UL

Hello members,

My knowledge of astrology is very limited, and I would like someone

experienced from this group to answer my queries.

All questions pertain to marriage matches.

I have heard the effective UL is found by rotating by 8 anti-

clockwise for second marriage. And then again by 8 for third marriage

and so on.

Also AL, UL and A7 and their placements to each other play important

roles in determining marriage relationships.

So

* Should A7 also be rotated? If so, how?

* Should AL also be rorated? If so, how?

* I also read that the seventh house is also rotated as UL rotates.

Is this right?

* What qualifies into marriage. Do long lasting one sided

infatutaions qualify? Do short lived love affairs(non physical

ralationships) which are both sided by which break for whatever

reasons qualify?

I have noticed with friends and relatives that, even short affairs or

maybe even infatuations qualify as marriage, as otherwise, their UL

donot match as per the rules given in Vedic astrology i.e. lagna of

spouse is UL, or trine to it or 7th from it or its lord's house.

I would be really grateful if someone clears my doubts.

Dear Anant Ji,

If we consider the 2nd house as sustenence, then the 2nd from a said

UL is an indicator of the institute of marriage.

Once the sustaning factors finish, we look at the 7th from that

reference to see what is the desire of the native.

Using the above, we reach the 8th from a said UL counting zodiacally.

When you said counting anti-clockwise, you are perhaps using the North

Indian chart. The South Indian chart would not see this.

So, instead, count "zodiacally" instead of "anti-clockwise."

If you agree to the above logic, then you can go ahead with more

countings for each marriage.

Besides the placement of the AL / UL / A7, one has to consider their

lordships.

You may try rotating the A7 in similar manner. However, if trying to

understand what brings relationships, try understanding the 7th from

Venus (what is there, as well as the lord).

I would not rotate AL. Once the AL perishes, you are no longer here...

Marriage has been a bit harder to describe across cultures. It is

traditionally recognized by either the Priest (Jupiter) or the

Goverment (Sun). Look for this in your research along with the 9th

House (and hence the Navamsa).

In the Epics, when Draupadi was married to 5 husbands, she posed her

dilemma to Shri Krishna. How was it that she could be a wife to so

many? If I recall correctly, a response was to be one in body and mind

, devoted, to 1 for an entire year.

Here, I think of the Sun and the Moon's conjunction.

UL is for marriage, and has also been stated as the intention to commit.

If there was no marriage, I would consider it A7.

Matching UL is a bit more elaborate.

One could consider:

Matching UL to other's UL (or Trines / Quadrants)

Matching UL to other's Lagna (or Trines / Quadrants)

Matching UL to other's A7 (or Trines / Quadrants)

.... others....

Each depicts a different scenario.

I hope that some of this helps you and learned members can also guide

you further.

Thank you.

Bala Gopal.
