Dear All,

 

There is a discussion going on in another forum on "many marriages". I thought

it is a important topic for astrologers hence posting same message here also.

The issue being discussed is prediction of many marriages.

 

I have some fundamental questions in this context.

 

1) What is the definition of the marriage ? Is it the legal definition i.e. the

time when the marriage document gets signed and Husband and wife enter into

legal contract of marriage ? But then what about many marriages which do not

get registered ? also in olden days there was no custom of registering the

marriage.

 

2) Is it the time when marriage ceremony takes place as per the rituals and

traditions followed by that religion ? This also may not be applicable in few

situations.

 

3) Is it the time of first physical sexual interaction between the husband and

wife ? This could not be a correct definition in many situation - like

unmarried couples , people having physical relationship before marriage or

without marriage etc etc

 

4) It is time when husband and wife decide to be life partners first time like

in case of love marriage ?

 

If the definition of the marriage itself is getting more and more complex in

current changing social norms , definition of more marriage is even more

complex and therefore difficult to map astrologically. So all the situations

like staying with another person without marriage , exmartial relationships ,

"platonic" involvements, marrying second time without getting legal divorce

etc are even more difficult to map astrologically.

 

Or is it that as I had written in this forum few months back that we should

think of three definitions of marriage - Psychological , Physical and legal and

try and map it astrologically ?
