Mr N Rao was kind enough to distribute is software for free to all the students at Arsh Vidya Gurukulam. I need some help in understanding the charts in the software. Someone please help. 1. There are symbols like SL, HL, PP in some of the houses. What do they mean. 2. What do A6, A7 etc mean. 3. How do I check the exaltation and debilitation. 4. A6 is arudha pada of 6th house and A7, arudhapada of 7th house. It will however be good to focus on Rashis, grahas and Bhavas (houses) to begin with. As you go on you can read about Arudhas and about other lagnas. When you read about grahas, you will come across the exaltation and debilitation signs of each one, e.g. Sun gets exalted in Aries and debilitated in Libra whereas Saturn's exaltation and debilitation signs are exactly opposite. Exchanges (parivartana) are of 3 types, Rashi, Nakshtra and Bhava exchange. Please see an article by Vistiji http://www.srigaruda.com/archives/parivartana.htm. Rashi exchange is the lord of 2 rashis being placed in each other's place. Nakshtara exchange is similar but refers to nakshtra lords and bhava exchange is the exchange between karkas of the house. The significance of such exchanges will make sense after you have studied rashis, nakshtras, grahas and bhavas carefully.
