Dishonesty is a basic human problem that arises out of ego. When we ourselves have not overcome our ego, why should we find fault with others for being egoistic and hence dishonest? If you want to change this, why don't you set the correct precedent instead of complaining? Secondly, it is not yet clear what future holds for Blair. Some commentators think that he will leave before the end of this year. Though I personally feel that he will stay after overcoming the discontent, it is quite possible that the gentleman you are criticizing ends up being correct in the end!
