Guest guest
OM Krishna Guru, This is the version of Ramayana that I heard from a revered guru and discussed in a satsang Rama is the Atma and Seeta is the Mind, When mind is lost to illusion ( the Golden Deer ) , it gets possessed/stolen by Ravana ( mayaworld, Knowledge -10 heads, Arts, Ambitions, greed, wealth, talents.. so.. on ) . When the mind is lost in this mayaworld, the atma Ram become desperate and disconsolate. Then the Atma Ram with the help of Awareness ( laksh-mana, Dhyana, devotion ) and breath-pranayama ( vayuputra, Monkey ( breathes jumpes up & down) - Hanuman ) rediscovers the Mind ( seeta) . Breath (pranyama) is the one which creates the "yoga" of Mind and atma - just like Hanuman discovers the Seeta and conveys it to Rama., but what is the state of mind (seeta )?, In the midst of Ravana, Kumbhakarna ( Sloth, gluttony and greed ), Indrajit ( Under the control on senses - attachment(son) ) and in the garden of this of supposedly Asoka park ( according to Ravana ), the Mind-Seeta is full of soka , lost , wants to end the misery and destroys itself Re-Discovery of Mind is only the 1st step, but to get it back fully , Atma needs/ gets the Conscience ,- ( Vibheesana ) . Then with the help of awareness, pure conscience and Breath, the Atma gets back the Mind by defeating indrajit, kumbhakarna and then finally Ravana. but when the atma gets back mind , it doubts it, feels that it will cause it more misery and tries to destroy the mind ( Seeta was asked to be purified by fire ) . It is then the gods appear or god is discovered and Rama is declared has God or Mahavishnu or Purushatma. It is said and possible that this is the path Valmiki followed to achieve peace and enlightment.RamaRajya is established within himself first and then in the world thru his dharma-karma Ramayana. Similarly for the Mahabharta , the five pandavas are atma ( Yudhisthra ) , vayu/ahankara ( Bhima) , Intellect ( arjuna ) , Nakula & Sahadeva ( body & fluids). It is interesting that in the Womb , first comes atma, then breathe then intellect/mind, then fluid/body. With the help of Mind, the Wealth (Panchali) is got. Similarly in the end of life , all of this is lost , only yudhisthra reaches the gates of heaven, only atma and its karmic deeds are left ( dog) . But only when the atma accepts its karma it is accepted inside the heaven or re-discovers itself in heaven. This is what I know, I am sure these puranas will inspire people in different ways and create different thoughts/Ideas/Imaginations and Meanings, above all peace and Joy.
