Guest guest
Thank you very much for the philosophical explanations on Ramayana. It has been invigorating and I need to reflect upon the philosophical imports. I like many other ordinary Hindus have been partial to the colourful stories in the puranas and believe they extol moral values, especially the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Of cos, within the Mahabharata is the Gita, which contains the highest philosophy. Yet, I find the stories and the colours they add, the most endearing part of Puranas and it is these puranas which formed the basis for the bhakti movement in India, for example Krishna's numerous exploits were the themes behind many devotional songs. For the wise men or the Jnanis, they hold a deeper philosophical meaning. But I beleive the utility of the puranas is not lost if one fails to grasp the higher meaning. The same Krishna, who preached the Gita and who promised not to bear arms in the war, came close to attacking Bheeshma. To me that is beautifull and not a contradiction. it might not grant me moksha, but it is none theless uplifting. Thank you again Partha and others. God Bless Ajith Dear AjithHave you read The commentary of Gita by Yogananda Paramahansa?People reflect themselves to the world. Those who have read the epics as stories , because they could not think beyond the mere arrangement of words. The power of the epics is such that even mere reading gives lot of happiness and upliftment, but there are few who would like to go beyond the words themselves. My father told me that when you read Ramayana at different times of your life, one gets an entirely different meaning. I am in the same process of learning. Why Ramayana, i look at the game of Cricket philosophically , Maslow theory of management philosophically. To each his own.best wishespartha--- In vedic astrology, Ajith <ajithk_1999> wrote:> Dear Partha,> > I respect your deep philosophical understanding. The thinking of above scene brings tears in my eyes.. utpal Ajith <ajithk_1999 .sg> wrote: Dear Partha and others, Thank you very much for the philosophical explanations on Ramayana.
