Dear Ajith

Have you read The commentary of Gita by Yogananda Paramahansa?

People reflect themselves to the world. Those who have read the epics

as stories , because they could not think beyond the mere arrangement

of words. The power of the epics is such that even mere reading gives

lot of happiness and upliftment, but there are few who would like to

go beyond the words themselves. My father told me that when you read

Ramayana at different times of your life, one gets an entirely

different meaning. I am in the same process of learning. Why

Ramayana, i look at the game of Cricket philosophically , Maslow

theory of management philosophically. To each his own.

best wishes

and Mahabharata have been read and understood literally by millions

of hindus and non-hindus for thousands of years and they reflect the

moral understanding of the times.

then symbolically one has to also accept the vices of Duriyodhana in

so far as they are functional in creating our own dharma. The same

logic goes for the avatar Rama. He is extolled for His Righteousness

and sense of loyalty and Duty. So while accepting the positive side

of Rama's qualities, one cannot plead intellectual high ground and

deny that Rama's slaying of Vali was an unjust act.I doubt if

cowardice was the issue.

that we would shun away from.

reflect the high stature in which he is held as the Ideal Man.
