Dear Gauranga Prabhu,

Hare Krsna

Thank you for

clearing this. It would go in line with the jyotish

teachings:

That the natural

malefic Mars and Saturn gain potency during the evening and early morning sandhis.

I was taught to chant Sri Narasimha mantra during Brahma Muhurata.

How have you

been? I need your new address to send the wild boar teeth + other goodies.

Jaya Jagannatha!

Dear list,

Namaste.

Interestingly I have heard chanting

Vishnu Sahasranaam in the mornings, i.e. at Brahma Muhurtha, in many places

especially in South India and Puri. As for

Narasimha mantras, I was told that dawn is very potent as this was when Lord

Narasimhadeva finished off Hiranyakashipu. It is also the time when the Pretas

(ghosts) are more active. So especially for Ugra mantras, it would be

great I think. As for Rudra, both mirning and evening sandhyas are recommended

as these are his active times as per the Bhagavatam. For Durga etc. I would

recommend night, and for general Vishnu mantras morning/daytime. For Hare

Krishna mantra any time is suitable.

Yours,

Dear

Kasthuri,

Namaste

Just

thinking aloud: Except for Vishnu Sahasranaam, the others involve the chanting

for tamasic/malefics which are most portent during the night/Brahma muhurata.

The results got (almost immediate) from the chanting of Chandi path was best in

the evening during the sandhis.

Narasimha

Stuti is available from the website. If you have problems reading the fonts, do

let me know.

Re: Re [vedic astrology]

Remedy for kantaka Sani, Sade Sati

Dear Anand, Swee and list

To my knowledge, Sri Rudram/Chamakam is usually best chanted in the mornings

and completed before noon. Even Ati Rudra yagnas conducted, follow this

practice. However, chanting Rudram/Chamakam is very effective during pradosham.

But chanting it even once is better than not chanting at all.

The benefits of chanting Rudram and Chamakam are several and is one of the most

powerful remedies not only for kantaka shani/sade sati but for a variety of

problems. Every word is Sri Rudram and Chamakam is "pregnant" with

such power that chanting it with total concentration "delivers"

results. Partha is absolutely right about Sri Rudram-Chamakam as a remedy for

kantaka Sani and Sade Sati.

However, as vedic adepts advise, Sri Rudram and Chamakam are not to be read-off

a book. It is better to learn it properly under a vedic scholar and receive the

knowledge properly in the traditional manner. There are several do's and don'ts

in chanting Sri Rudram-Chamakam and violating them is not advisable. Shanti

mantras are also very important and should not be ignored.

I should confess that I have not yet found scriptural support that confirms,

chanting the 3rd anuvaka of Chamakam "alone" helps. Perhaps, someone

can throw more light.

Swee, do you have Narasimha Stuti in soft copy? If so, can I request you to

send me the same by email. Thanks.

I hope this helps. I will try to write more on this, later.

Best wishes

Dear Partha,

The chamakam/sri

rudram gets better strength early evening during the sandhis or later at night.

For some,

Kantak Shani/Sade Sati, chanting Narasimha Stuti (at night) or during Brahma

muhurata with Visnu Saharanaam is more acceptable.

Hope to have

suitably informed you J

Remedy for kantaka Sani, Sade Sati

Dear Partha,

Thanks for confirming that

Rudram/Chamakam will alleviate some of the pains going during Saturns testing

period.

Rudram, itself is a very big

narration almost takes 15 to 20 min. As per my knowledge I have seen, that even

if the following is repeated 11 or 40 times in a day it will take care of lot

of things.. Need your input to this.

All that we are is the result of what we have

thought. If a man speaks

or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If

a man speaks or

acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him,

like a shadow that

never leaves him.
