Guest guest
Dear Himanshu, Kanu, Surya, Utpal, kasturi et al Yes, we have to look at our puranas from a scientific angle. The stories were told to make the abstract concepts simple. The stories have powerful hints for yoga, jyotishya etc. We have to think, think hard as to why certain things are said the way they are said,. Now some fools tell me that Sri Rama was a coward and he killed Vali from behind. Sri Rama is Mahavishnu himself, and Vali is sense Pleasures personified. No one(Mortals like Sugreeva) can hope to conquer senses(Vali) by sitting in front of TV and watching FTV and other channels all the day. Physical alienation is a gross way to conquer senses, but is atleast the starting step. Sri Rama pierces through the Seven trees by a single arrow. What are those seven trees, they are nothing but the sapta Chakra residing in the human body. What is the arrow , it is nothing but the Kundalini which forces its way properly without hurting the body if the body is attuned to the divine will. Let us look at the parasara Hora chakra. It has all the planets in two signs Cancer and Leo. What does it mean? Cancer represents the IDA, and Leo represents the Pingala. Leo is HA, Cancer is THA. By mere analysis of this chart, we can find defect in the breath pattern and the ways to correct it. All these things were known to me by thinking hard. No one told me these things. May be a great guru told me these things in some past life, i dont know. Guest guest
I respect your deep philosophical understanding. However, Ramayana and Mahabharata have been read and understood literally by millions of hindus and non-hindus for thousands of years and they reflect the moral understanding of the times. So if one were ot accept the stories regarding Yudhistra's virtues then symbolically one has to also accept the vices of Duriyodhana in so far as they are functional in creating our own dharma. The same logic goes for the avatar Rama. He is extolled for His Righteousness and sense of loyalty and Duty. So while accepting the positive side of Rama's qualities, one cannot plead intellectual high ground and deny that Rama's slaying of Vali was an unjust act.I doubt if cowardice was the issue. Of cos, for a bhakta, his Ideal woud be seen as perfect and rightfully should be so. For others, we still have to be cognizant that such an act is not acceptable in today's society and something that we would shun away from. That said the fact that Rama's praises are still sung to day, only reflect the high stature in which he is held as the Ideal Man. Guest guest
SARVAM GYANANANDAMAYAM AUM GURUBYO NAMAH Dear Ajit, Namaste. It is correct on the part of Sugreeva to fight with Vaali. You would definitely be knowing the reasons for the fight. It was Vaali who justified his act by pointing out that dharma sastras for human beings does not apply for animals. It was absolutely correct on the part of SriRama to hunt an animal. There is no necessity to have one to one combat with an animal. Now let us see what this animal is. It is the ahankara. It is not possible to have one to one combat with ahankara. The best way is to invoke the Ista who is none other than the deity who is behind the atmakaraka. Best wishes. Astrologically & spiritually yours, p.s.ramanarayanan. --- Ajith <ajithk_1999 wrote: > Dear Partha, > > I respect your deep philosophical understanding. > However, Ramayana and Mahabharata have been read and > understood literally by millions of hindus and > non-hindus for thousands of years and they reflect > the moral understanding of the times. > So if one were ot accept the stories regarding > Yudhistra's virtues then symbolically one has to > also accept the vices of Duriyodhana in so far as > they are functional in creating our own dharma.
