Not according to the Narada Purana.

While a woman may be

"clean" enough on the 4th day, this is only for the purpose of union

with her husband.

The chanting of mantras can only be

started after the 7th day. While the only mahamantra

I know that can be chanted everyday is the following:

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna

Hare Hare

Hare Rama

Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

Srimad Bhagavatam states that while offering a vrata

(or any other rites) when the woman is in her monthly course, her husband can

offer the puja on behalf until such time she is clean

(1 week).

Love,

Swee
