Prashna - Rental Car Damage Claim

Namaste Gurus and Members,

 

I'm not sure if result of insurance claim for vehicle damages comes

under analysis by prashna or otherwise. However, I decided to post it

and hear the result and analysis from Gurus and learned members.

 

Background:

I have the habit of renting car over the weekends and I book and

charge the rental to my credit card and use the credit card coverage

for vehicle damage. Few weeks ago on one such weekend, I was involved

in an accident with quite some damage to the car. I had opened claim

with Credit Card company and y'day I had a message from the rental

car agency that the claim had been rejected. I'd be taking this up

strongly with the Credit Card company in a couple of days. Now, the

Prashna is will I be successful in getting the Credit Card company

pay the rental agency for the car damage costs?

Unlike previous instances, this time (the amount involved is about

$5k), I'm more concerned regds the response to the Prashna than the

analysis. However, the analysis will be a bonus towards my learning.
