Let us try to understand SADHANA from the angle of SADHYA - what is sought, and SADHAKA - the seeker. So, the ACTIVITY of SEEKING is SADHANA. Let's say we are all seekers of (jyotish) knowledge - we are the SADHAKAs. And, when we seek, what we do is SADHANA. I hope none has any objection to this understanding of the term SADHANA.
