Guest guest
Namasthe My mail was not working for a few days. Hence could not reply you. Different deities and their essential functions: This is very easy to understand. The Basic three functions Srishti - Creation - Brahma Sthithi - Sustenance - Vishnu Samhara - Destruction - Maheshwara Their counterpart or what helps them to accomplish these tasks Brahma - Saraswathy - Vidya Vishnu - Maha Lakshmi - Wealth Maheshwara - Durga - Energy In order to create one needs knowledge (vidya). in order to sustain one needs wealth and for destruction one needs energy. Are these independent? Definitely NO. All are different manifestations of one source name Paramathma or Parabrahma. It is like sunlight having different colors, different rays (Alfa, beta, Ultra violet etc) each with its own usage, qualities. That is why it is said in Upanishads “Ekam sadvipraha bahuda vadanthi” Each of the above consists of many different manifestations or different energies or energies with different wavelengths. (Eg: Devi Kavacha in Devi Mahatmya gives different manifestations of Devi and their functions) Now what is Kula devatha / Grama Devatha and their relation with us. First let us try to understand what are we. The human body and mind is subject to gunas (three qualities- Satwa, Raja and Thama). That is why living being is cumulative effect of habits, nature, culture that is subjective including the place. When we pray to a particular deity as Kula devatha (family deity) or grama devatha (village deity), we receive the energy attributed to that particular deity. It is like the radio coming alive when it gets tuned to a particular radio station. As time and generation passes our body and mind auto configures to those energy sources, without which our efficiency / functionality gets reduced. It is also like a signer who had the habit of taking a peg of whisky or two before going for a concert cannot do without it. He gets so addicted to this habit that he cannot sing without having whisky. Only that the deities are more complicated than a simple addiction A person is a part of a family with some common genes which could have been the result of the habitual receipt of a particular energy that is the manifested in a particular deity form. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Dear Suresh Bau, Namskar. Many thanks for your informative response. i am benefited by it. When we talk of the wrath/anger of the Kula/Gram devata, i understand that the vibrations (represented by that deity of the place or family) have stopped being harmonious with Nature ( in the overall sense). Also propitiation of the deity helps to restore the balance (or pacify the deity & save the natives from the wrath/anger of the deity). Thnks to you. regards suryaviswanadham vedic astrology, "Suresh Babu.A.G" <sureshbabuag> wrote: > Namasthe > > My mail was not working for a few days.
