Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Dear Narasimha & others, There seems to be a basic premise that a full version of astro software is only meant for 'Professional' astrologers ( who essentially charge for their services). There is no room given for those who are motivated towards astrology for other reasons than money. How would they pay for the expensive softwares? Percentages could be misleading, without considering absolute numbers. IMHO the nos are too less for any statistical analysis. What if somebody blames the lack of interest on high costs of learning? What would be the answer? Everybody's interest depends on the popularity of Vedic astrology! Instead of a million followers (highly exaggerated) around the globe, what if we have a couple of billions!! Come on guys, pull up your socks and compete with a free software (which has one man's heart at its core!), with all your resources! regards viswanadham vedic astrology, "Narasimha P.V.R. I also believe that the value of this tool will be enhanced considerably after I open up the source code in a couple of years or so. It is my vision that an extremely powerful free tool will be available to Jyotish researchers in a decade or so. This is just the first step, but an essential one. I am more motivated by the long-term vision. > > I greatly respect the work being done by so many other software makers with excellent intentions and great contributions to the Jyotish community. While my software, with its elaborate calculations and options, is ideal for researchers and students, it is not upto mark for professional practitioners who don't need all those calculations but need beautiful print-outs, ease of use, nice look and feel etc. I left JHora lacking so as to minimize the impact on others. I purposely ignored the advice of some well-wishers to give a professional look and feel to JHora and add some conveniences that professional practitioners may want. Most commercial software packages have a very clear edge over JHora in this area. JHora is mainly for researchers. > > May Jupiter's light shine on us, > Narasimha > ------------------------------- > Free Jyotish lessons (MP3): http://vedicastro.home.comcast.net > Free Jyotish software (Windows): http://www.VedicAstrologer.org > -------------------------------
