Dear Vipin,

I am not sure you understood Ayanamsa, Since you compare

NASA figures and Lahiri/Raman.

NASA data gives the position on sky as observed. It's astronomical

data. This data gives information for sky watchers to point their

instruments/eyes for observation.

This value is called Sayana. Sa+ayana = with+movement

The observed sky keeps changing since the time of creation. It's

only thru mathematics of Jyotish an attempt is made to go

back to creation.

Jyotish applies a correction to this changing sky to get the actual

true position with respect to Narayana

Nara+Ayana -> Narayana

Nri -> Nara(Human/Mankind)

Nri also means the point in sun dial indicating the

Sun as the Narayana.

The quantity of movement is called ayam.

Henc, Ayanamasa is correction applied in Jyotish.

Ayam + Amsa -> Ayanamsa

This actual Ayanamsa value is a big secret to crack. Both

Lahiri Committee value and Dr Raman's are very learned opinion.

If Dr. Raman felt the Lahiri value is not accurate there could

have been some reason. There may some text which he refered or

some traditional words. Latter on, I think he settled for Lahiri

value indicating that possibly he felt Lahiri value is more

accurate. But maybe some change is still needed. This is my opinion.

Use Lahiri value for now.

Warm Regards

Sanjay P
