Dear Tarun,

The authentication of a certain ayanamsa is a

complicated even scientific issue. Lahiri (or

chitrapaksha) ayanamsa is widely accepted as one of

the closest (not perfect) available ayanamsha. On the

other hand, many followers of Raman school follow his

ayanmasa, instead of the fact that Lahiri ayanamsha

has rational foundation. Moreover Lahiri ayanamsa is

endorsed by Govt of India. Whereas Cyril-Fagan

ayanamsha is preferred by western Siderealist.

The Raman ayanamsha is approximately 1 degree 27

minutes less than Lahiri ayanamsa. It is not necessary

that this difference always results in variation of 2

years among dashas. But it hinges upon the elongataion

of total MD period.

For example; A nakshatra is spread over 13 degrees and

20 minutes. You obviously know that Sun's dasa (i.e.

13*20') is of 6 years so 1 degree of Sun is

approxately equal to 5 months and 12 days. While 1

degree of Venus = 1 year and 6 months. In your case

Moon is into Jupiter's nakshatra therefore first dasha

is of Jupiter. The ayanamsha difference b/w Lahiri and

Raman is 1 degree 27 minutes therefore the dasha

starting difference is of 1 year and 10 months.

You have said that your life events are well explained

by Raman's ayanamsa based dasah/transit. They can even

illustrated by Lahiri ayanamsa based dasha/transit

too. All reknown Gurus and expert prefer Lahiri's

ChitraPaksha ayanamsha. So I dont give you an advise

of using Raman ayanamsa.

Regards,

M.Imran

how can one know which is better?

you need please give many many events in your life, see when the

changes occured.

also, changes occur up to a year before a mahadasha starts, as the

energies of the new mahadasha begins to take over.

generally, most astrologers tend to use the lahiri, but who knows?...

my point is, one needs more input on your life before deciding.
