Guest guest
- Narasimha P.V.R. Rao Tuesday, February 01, 2005 10:14 PM Al Gore for 2008? Namaste friends, When political pundits talk about candidates for the 2008 presidential elections, the names we often hear are those of Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, John Kerry (again), Jeb Bush, Rudy Giuliani etc. However, I think one very important name is missing in the list! In my judgment, Al Gore has a pretty good chance to run and win in 2008. Logically, it is not impossible. We have a precedent of a losing Presidential candidate re-running after a gap. Nixon lost a very very close election to Kennedy in 1960, took it easy in 1964 and re-ran in 1968 to win. Just because Al Gore tried once and lost, it does not mean he cannot run again. When Al Gore announced in ABC interview that he was not running, he only said he would not run in 2004. He did not rule out running in 2008. Recall the fact that Al Gore, an establishment insider, came out in support of Dean, an establishment outsider, and extended Dean his endorsement before the primaries, ahead of Liebermann, Kerry, Gephardt and Clark (who were all closer to Gore). Gore is a shrewd and calculating politician. Some political pundits commented at the time that Gore was looking at a possible run in 2008 and wanted to impress all those new voters that Dean brought into the system. It makes sense to me. So, logically, Gore coming into the fray in the coming years is not impossible. Now, let us look at it astrologically. Birthdata: 1948 March 31, 12:58 pm EST (rectified, original was 12:53), Washington DC He will run Rahu-Mars antardasa as per Dwisaptati sama dasa in Nov 2008. Both the planets are associated with the 10th house in rasi chart and placed in the 5th house of power in D-10. As per dasamsa Narayana dasa, dasa of Scorpio runs then. Scorpio is the 5th house in D-10. It seems pretty likely to me that Gore will get into a powerful position around 2007-2009. Even in the 2008-09 annual Tithi Pravesha chart (soli-lunar return chart), hora lord (ruler of the year) is Jupiter. Jupiter is the 5th lord in rasi chart and joins 9th lord Moon in own sign (Sagittarius), in the 2nd house. Lagna lord Mars is in samasaptaka with them. The 10th lord Sun is in the 5th house (Pisces). Annual dasa of Moon runs at the time of election. In the annual Tajaka chart also, Sun is the 10th lord in 5th in an adhimitra rasi and he is exalted in 10th in D-10. Annual patyayini dasa of Sun runs at the time of elections. All things considered, I think there is a good chance that Al Gore will run and win in 2008. Let us wait and see if he comes back into active politics!
