Guest guest
||| Hare Rama Krishna ||| Dear Swee and List Members, Namaskaar. Swee -- you bring up a thought provoking scenario. I further said to myself -- "What if the Moon were in Gandanta..?" :> Irrespective, I would continue the naming of the child associated with the first syllable (and appropriate Nakshatra Pada) in which the Moon is placed.... I assume that when the Maharishis gave the Nakskahtra syllables, they kept various scenarios in account, including that of Gandanta. They devoted seperate Chapters as remedial measures, etc. when the Moon is found in a stressful position. If you know any cases where the Moon has been in Marana Karaka Sthaana or in Gandanta and the above has been discouraged, let us know....? Thanks. Best wishes, Nitin. || Namah Shivaaya || vedic astrology, "Swee Chan" <swee@c...> wrote: > Jaya Jagannatha > > Dear Nitin, > > What if the Moon is in marana? > > Curious, > > Swee > > > Nitin [astronitin] > Monday, January 31, 2005 8:43 PM > vedic astrology > [vedic astrology] #2 Re: Fwd: First letter of name for a baby > > > > ||| Hare Rama Krishna ||| > > Dear Anand and List Members, Namaskaar. > > Anand -- yes, the first syllable is considered from the Nakshatra of > the Moon. > > http://evesindia.indiainfo.com/pregnancy/nakshatra.html > > Best wishes, > Nitin. > > || Namah Shivaaya || > > vedic astrology, "Anand Raghavan" > <ranand@g...> wrote: > > > > Hello, > > > > Just resending this since Im not sure if people got to see this > > email.. > > > > Thanks > > Anand > > > > vedic astrology, "Anand Raghavan" > > Hello, > > > > I was wondering if someone could point me to literature where I can > > read up on how to decide the first letter of a baby's name .. > > > > Is it based on the nakshatram when the baby is born? Just the hint on choosing a good muhurata for Naamakarana as stated in Narada Purana, is that the NAME shall be composed of auspicious syllables. So it is not based purely on the Moon's placement but should be based on the most auspicious planet in Rasi in its relevant nakshatra pada (and assessment in Navamsa)..... of course bearing in mind the several types of gandanta and their lords involved. Moon in sukla paksha is strong. Nakshatras are strong during Krishna Paksha. Vedic Numerology becomes part and parcel of the assessment and this is what Sanjay ji has to say in his article on Vedic Numerology: Usage Maharishi Jaimini has used this Katapayadi varga to hide the numbers of houses within words. For example in the sloka 'Swatste daraH' we find that the word Swa is composed of only one complete alphabet Va which implies the number '4'. the other word is dara which we have already seen refers to the number '4'. Thus Maharishi was giving a vital rider to the Arudha Pada calculation in the stanza by telling us that if the planet is in the fourth house from its own sign, then the Arudha pada shall be in the fourth house itself (instead of the seventh). This gives us a vital hint about using the Katapayadi Varga. We can use this to determine the Zodiac sign hidden within the names of people and companies and see if the same is beneficial or otherwise.
