Guest guest
Hello, I was wondering if someone could point me to literature where I can read up on how to decide the first letter of a baby's name .. Is it based on the nakshatram when the baby is born? If it is not, can it be decided based on information about the parents even before the baby is born? Thanks Anand

Guest guest
Dear Anand, It is based on the Nakshatra pada. If you refer a Panchanga, you will find a table giving the relevant information. Chandrashekhar. Anand Raghavan wrote: Hello, Just resending this since Im not sure if people got to see this email.. Guest guest
Dear Anand and list Naming baby according to the traditonally accepted way of Nakshatra system is fine, but there are other ways too. best wishes partha On Mon, 31 Jan 2005 18:21:59 -0000, Anand Raghavan <ranand wrote: > > > Hello, > > Just resending this since Im not sure if people got to see this > email.. > > Thanks > Anand > > vedic astrology, "Anand Raghavan" > Hello, > > I was wondering if someone could point me to literature where I can > read up on how to decide the first letter of a baby's name .. > > Is it based on the nakshatram when the baby is born? Guest guest
Dear Partha and list, >Naming baby according to the traditonally accepted way of Nakshatra >system is fine, but there are other ways too. Yes, well, I have a few books with the nakshatra tables, and it is amazing how much one book differs even from another book. Sanjay Rath's Remedies book e.g. mentions GHA for last pada of Sravan, Beneath a Vedic Sky has GUH, Prashna Sastra by Deepak Kapoor has KHO, and a book on Samskaras by an Iskcon devotee also has KHO. Are there different systems, traditions, or isn't it so clear? Or does it depend on personal practice also? Interesting topic. The Samskaras book I have looks the most complete, giving other methods as well, e.g. syllables for Moon SIGN, Vedic solar or lunar month, and their deities etc. Yours, Dhira Krsna dasa, Jyotishi http://www.radhadesh.com http://www.geocities.com/dvdd1008/Jyotisha.html http://.org/education/dhira_krsna_das.html
Guest guest
Dear Dhira I dont think it depends much on personal practice. People with different dialects have different ways of pronouncing, so may be the errors would have creeped in. best wishes partha On Tue, 08 Feb 2005 10:02:47 -0800 (PST), Dhira Krsna BCS <Dhira.Krsna.BCS wrote: > > Dear Partha and list, > > >Naming baby according to the traditonally accepted way of Nakshatra > >system is fine, but there are other ways too. > > Yes, well, I have a few books with the nakshatra tables, and it is amazing > how much one book differs even from another book.
