Namaste friends,

We perform "Satya Narayana Vratam" on every Full Moon night at my house in South

Grafton (greater Boston). Full Moon night is an auspicious occasion for this

auspicious vratam. Satya Narayana is a form of Vishnu and he is the

personification of Truth.

This pooja takes 2-2.5 hours. We will be starting at 7:30 pm on Monday (Jan 24,

2005). At around 10 pm, we will be having dinner with the prasadam that was

offered to God. If you live nearby, you are most welcome to attend the pooja

and have dinner with us. I and my wife will be very happy to have you as our

guest.

If you are interested in attending, please reply to this email or call (508)

839-1218. I or my wife Padmaja can give directions.

If you live away from here and want to know how to do this vratam, I cannot

really help. It is a long procedure involving many mantras and invocation of

many gods. A good approximation may be to say "Om Namo Bhagavate Satya Devaya"

108 or 1008 times. Take bath after sunset, pray to Ganesha, Visnu Sahasram or

some other prayers of Vishnu that you may know and then say this mantra many

times. This may be a good approximation of the whole vrata.

May Jupiter's light shine on us,Narasimha
