Dear James, and List members, Namaskaar.

Glad to be in discussion James. Some thoughts below…

==========

Dear Nitin,

Many thanks for your kind reply.

>> James -- please describe Venus for me? Is it not the harmonizer?

Yes - Venus signifies beauty, and also sex and relationships with the

opposite sex. Is this a fair description Nitin?

[Via NK]

Amongst the many adjectives used to describe Venus, some of them that

come to my mind are that of:

Asura Guru

Giver of the MahaMrityunjaya Mantra

Harmony

Instant gratification

Distraction

The rebel

Artistic

The most refined

..

..

..

"Beauty lies in the eye of the Beholder…"

What I may consider as beautiful or be attracted toward, may not be

the same for someone else. Yet, Venus plays out a role in everyone's

chart(s)…

For image, I examine the Arudha (roughly translating to mounting

point, and that which rises). This can give us a clue as to what one's

prospective partner is attracted / repulsed toward.

>> Try to get outside the box of "benefic" and "malefic."

Ok - but it is hard!

[Via NK]

I agree. You're not alone. Just try to be more descriptive of the

qualities revealed of the planets. You're already grasping it…

:>

I am still a learner and I keep hearing Vedic

astrologers more learned than I saying these sorts of things.

[Via NK]

One must take a broad perspective as this is a deep field of study.

You are again, already doing so, as described and questioned further

below…

One person told me that since Venus is lord of dusthana house 6, even

though it is Lagnesh, its gem should be never used. Yet another said

that it would enhance the native's personal image and strongly

attract people towards her as it will enhance her natural

attractiveness and magnetism caused by Taurus ascendant.

[Via NK]

A balanced approach is favorable. The latter half of the above

suggests that 1/12th of the population could have their personal image

be enhanced by simply wearing a diamond.

Again, I would examine the Arudhas for attraction / repulsion.

He suggested that she should wear a large diamond as a pendant around

the neck, set in gold, or in the ring finger of right hand (right hand

to increase benefic properties, left hand to decrease malefic

properties?).

[Via NK]

Ahh.. yes.. this is where I was getting at… which hand / finger(s)?

:>

We have some people who prescribe gems, but do not get into details.

Here is what I consider:

Left hand – to decrease

Right hand – to increase

Dharma – Ring Finger

Artha – Middle Finger

Kaama – Little Finger

Moksha – Index Finger

[The thumb is symbolic of the Aakash Tawa (element of ether) that

binds us all together. See how easy it is to have the thumb touch the

other fingers, comparatively…?]

The 4 Ayanas or goals mentioned above can be mapped into the Trikonas.

Dharma Trikonas : Houses 1, 5 & 9

Artha Trikonas: Houses 10, 6 & 2

Kaama Trikonas: Houses 7, 3 & 11

Moksha Trikonas: Houses 4, 12 & 8

One can use the above as guidelines.

For necklaces, I consider Sarpa Doshas.

Personally speaking, I am still learning more on gemstones, and do not

recommend them as yet. I was willing to do so for only one person,

should the need have arisen, but this did not happen. Alternatives

were considered. This is not to dismiss the effectiveness of the

stones – they can indeed do a lot…

>> Also, try the same for Scorpio rising -- i.e. 1st and 6th Lorded

by Mars.

Yes, what is the answer here? Should the person wear Red coral to

increase leadership qualities? By the way, even without lordship of

6th house, will red coral not increase the violent tendencies of the

native (Mars as ascendant lord)?

>> The idea is not to test, but to better understand the scenario

given ...

Yes, I see what you're getting at.

I would appreciate more feedback from you - I am still a learner.

Regards,

James

[Via NK]

Glad you're also thinking about red coral.

:>

Hope some of this helps. I know the others will also want to add in.

Best wishes and warm regards,

Nitin.
