Guest guest
Hi All, Can people share their views on the differences between the 10th house and 6th house in term of Profession. Both the houses are indicator for service. If 10th house is strong one may gain a lot in profession. What if 6th house is strong? Will that mean the person may rise up high in service? Or will that only mean that the person will destroy his enemies and become victorious in competitions. regards, Anil Mail - Easier than ever with enhanced search. Guest guest
Namaste Anil ji, There are three houses that are particularly important in dasamsa chart (D-10) for career. The 2nd house, the 6th house and the 10th house are called artha trikonas. Artha does not mean money as widely thought, but means "the purpose". Artha trikonas show the purpose served by one. The 2nd house shows the resources at one's command. It can be wealth, family connections, speech or anything. The 6th house shows the process of putting those resources to use and overcoming the obstacles. It can be fighting external enemies or even internal enemies and it can also just show working hard. The 10th house shows the final result. It shows what is achieved in the society. It shows the karma performed. The 2nd house is the basis, the 6th house is the process and the 10th house is the culmination - the final result. The strongest artha trikona can decide one's career. For example, take Tom Hanks (1956 July 9, 11:17 am, 7:00 west of GMT, 122w01, 37n58). His dasamsa has a 4 planet yoga in the 6th house, where the 2nd and 6th lords are involved. So the 6th house decides his career. Naturally, he is a workaholic who is always working hard. The 6th lord in 6th is Venus and it can certainly show an actor. Venus is in a dasamsa owned by Indra (Indra is the king of gods). Such a Venus can show a very influential entertainer. Many scholars use the divisional charts, but I haven't seen anyone use the amsa deities. In each divisional chart, there are amsa deities for each amsa. For example, planets in dasamsa can be in the amsas of dasa dikpalas (rulers of the ten directions - 8 two-dimensional directions, up and down). These were clearly defined by Parasara, but I have not seen anybody use them. I presented some teachings from the tradition and some of my research findings on amsa deities at an SJC conference in Boston in Sept 2004. One can find a lot of useful information on this in the MP3 audio of my free classes. See the link below. If you see the chart of a businessman, pay attention to kama trikonas. While artha trikonas show the purpose served by one in society, kama trikonas shows the desires behind that. The 3rd house is the initiative and determination. It is the basis for all desires. The 7th house shows the desires nurtured and pursued by one. The 11th house is the culmination of kama trikona and shows the gains made by one. People with stronger artha trikonas are usually in service. People with stronger kaama trikonas are in business or atleast want to be in business. I was seeing the chart of a gentleman this week. He is a software engineer near Boston. I knew he was in service and not in business. But, after rectifying his birthtime confidently based on the events given, I found Mars in Aries in the 7th house in dasamsa in an amsa owned by Kubera (god of money). I had no doubt about dasamsa lagna based on the rectification. So I asked him if he always wanted to have his own business and not work for anybody. He was surprised and immediately said that that was correct. He said he always wanted to have a business of his own and make more money. The same Mars is in 11th from arudha lagna and the arudha of 11th is with him. Without any doubt, he will have a very succressful business of his own when Mars dasa runs during 2010-2017. That is what I told him and told him to take it easy till then. In the case sighted below you have mentioned 'I had no doubt about dasamsa lagna based on the rectification.' Can you please give us a few tips on fixing the D10 lagna. You may want to take this case as an example. Thank you and regards Ramesh Narasimha P.V.R.
