Dear Debra:

Your description warms my heart about how Jyotish can help us with these and many

other kinds of woes.

Jyotish teaches that these 'karmas', or life experiences we go through, are

there, explainable, in our charts.

And being there, Jyotish then wants to say, we have created these realities.

And even though we might not remember why we have created or deserved the things

we've gone through, we can either continue to blame, 'them' ....

or we can accept.

The Sun's in our charts represent our Fathers, and the Moon's, our Mothers, and

all the Planets represent ourselves.....

My own particular Guru said one time, "don't blame anyone for the news that they

bring, they are just the messengers...."

That's helped me often, and inspite of the many problems and challenges in my

life, when I finally learned to accept....

then, began the first step of growth, and healing....that ultimately,....began

to lead to a final healing and happiness....

I find one of the most gripping dramas we all go through are the attachments to

our parent's, Mothers and Fathers....

When I learned that my relationship or karma, with my parents was very much like

the condition of the Sun & Moon in my chart, that helped me to accept....

Then, I slowly began to move, away from the attachment, that 'they' had any grip

or affect upon me, and in reality, ....I have always been free to grow in terms

of more emotional happiness, (Moon), and/or more self-esteem....(or Sun).....

Now, to look at the questions you asked:

I need help discerning proper judgement of parental influence on my

life. It has been difficult with both relationships, particularly

with my mother. However, I feel my father was much of the

contributer to many views. I always felt I came from good parents

but always felt I was a dissappointment to them.

Difficulties with Mother, as you mention is looked at by the Moon and the 4th

House, and 4th House lord...

In your chart, you have this Exalted Moon, in both your Rasi & Navamsa charts...

so not much grief there....

but,.... in your chart, your 4th house is Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter....

and even though Jupiter is in a very sublime place in Pisces, still....

Jupiter is being fully aspected by Saturn, in Virgo, in the first House...

So, this seems to be the most obvious 'Jyotish' reason why you'd feel difficulties with Mother,

.....

Therefore, if Saturn is representative of the 'grief' there, then, Saturn is the

planet that if strengthened,.... should be able to help you resolve this

unhappiness,.... even between you and your Mother...

Moon does represent 'our' Mothers, and with an Exalted Moon, probably you'll

always feel great love for your Mother, but Saturn in Virgo, does represent the

karma of grief, and criticism, coming to you, via Saturn upon your 4th house

Lord...

So, making peace with Saturn,.... is a great way for you to resolve this unsettling unhappiness...

And through Saturn, comes not only peace in this way, but peace of all kinds...

Saturn is not only the planet of 'grief' and unhappiness, it's also the Planet

of Peace and Happiness....

Saturn is there to teach us, to 'be'....happy, to be silent...and be balanced....

And once we find this inner stillness automatically will not only you feel,

'free', but you even have the chance to find your true Mother, the Mother of us

all, Mother Divine,.... which your chart indicates has great potential, .....for

you....

And once we find peace with this Moon/Mother,....inside....our earthly Mother,

and/or Motherings, immediately....can become achieved.....

Hope this helps....

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid

ps.... we don't have control really over others. Whether it is our Mothers,

Fathers, siblings, or friends.... they have their right to continue in their

actions towards us....

but, we have the power, to transcend....those.... realities,....and find the

peace and harmony that we desire...

In fact no one stands in our way,....accept ourselves....

for the whole Universe, in reality, is just an expression of our true Selves....

and once we come to that place, from where we will truely know this...

then, and only then, will these kinds of sorrows, finally disappear!

[vedic astrology] Parental Judgement 4th and 9th hse

To respected Gurus and List,

I need help discerning proper judgement of parental influence on my

life. It has been difficult with both relationships, particularly

with my mother. However, I feel my father was much of the

contributer to many views. I always felt I came from good parents

but always felt I was a dissappointment to them. Later in my years,

I realized I was very much taken care of physically but not really

ever nurtured. It is difficult for me to accept my parents

rejection of me emotionally when both have been good people, well

educated and highly admired by many. Most importantly, I never felt

physically abandoned. My father has been dead now 13 yrs and my

mother is very self absorbed. My husband says that my mother always

has been the kind of person who would call me to pass on information

or wanted information from me - not really ever wanting a true

relationship. Too, I have felt for many years a kind of competition

or jealousy coming from my mother. I have no idea why. I think it

is more than a control or autocratic position. I am confused on my

own judgement and analyzse of chart. Please help so that I can

better understand both my parents and myself. And to make the best

of the situation for both my mother and myself.

Thank You

Debra

Dear Mark, Hi,

Thanks for this beautiful post full of philosophical and practical

wisdom. Being too often caught in formulas in Jyotish and looking at

Grahas as just mere symbols on paper, I personally at least am

reminded everytime that there is more to Jyotish, and it is a living

reality, e.g. a continuing interaction between the Grahas and the

Native, not just predictions.

Best wishes, Sabri.
