I have shown my horoscope to few astrologers and everyone said that I will have problems in married life. The main reason, I think is that Mars and Venus are wrongly placed in my chart. I am also Mangli as Mars is in the 7th house. Is it true that doing homas for various planets (all 9 planets) can make a change in my married life and I can live happily with my husband. Has anyone experienced good effects of homas for themselves or anyone they know? Do they really work. Or is there any other remedies for this kind of problems. Awaiting comments and responses. Guest guest Posted January 12, 2005 Report Share Posted January 12, 2005 Dear Sangeeta, Namaste, Homa's are one of the basic remedies advised in the scriptures and they do work, BUT, do not expect that one homa will solve everything. Also regarding the specific Homa, the type of the Homa, who does it, for how long and how, are parameters which can change results. It also depends on the magnitude of the karmic problem you are dealing with. On the practical side it would not be wise to expect miraculous results out of one specific homa. This area is a complex area, it "may" indeed happen that a homa will change a lot in your life, or may resolve a difficulty totally, but there are no guidelines available, about what kind of effect to expect out of a homa. Other remedies include, chanting mantras, chanting hymns, doing personal Pujas, doing specific things for charity, and wearing gemstones. Mantras, hymns, gemstones etc. should be advised by somebody who is competent in this. Especially wearing Gemstones is quite tricky, so this somebody should be proficient. Just for information, the scriptures were written in an age, when the Vedic Knowledge was lively, and it was quite normal (I presume looking at the scriptures themselves) that remedies were a part of life, e.g. one kept using or practicing them all the time. In this age it is not fair to expect miracles by just doing a little something here and there. So if you really want to solve an issue, the first thing needed I beleive is persistence and patience. Then you can assume that things will change. I have not personally myself seen miraculous things happening easily.
