A Fresh look on Vipareeta Rajayoga

Hi to all

VRY is a typical yoga, for which there are not many references available

except in UttarKalamrta (by kalidas). By definition, 6th lord, 8th lord and

12th lord must be placed in another dusthana house (not the same house- e.g.

6th lord must be in 8th or 12th NOT in 6th) and they must not be associated

with another planet. 3rd lord is not provided in the definition. So the

complete VRY is a rare one. According to the source, I referred, it makes a

man Raja.

Now the question to be looked into is - will partial VRY (not complying with

the above definition) give any positive outcome ? or the outcome are

basically sarla/vimla yoga NOT the VRY, as we may interpret. As in

astrology, there is no such definition of partial yoga.

Secondly, most yoga definition and astrological interpretations are also

subject to new interpretations (due to basic change in structure of society

and relationship). For example- 12th lord gives videsh yatra and

residence..hence was considered bad by sages. But in modern age, this

interpretation is fallacious..so is 2ne house, 4th house and so on... and in

my humble view, this shift in environment / yuga / social structure & living

patterns needs to be inducted and fresh look to be given for the karkatva

indicated in reference books. If one chooses to apply this, they will e

surprised by the analysis.

S far as VRY goes..my chart has 6th lord in 8th, 8th lord in 12th and 12th

lord in 6th...but the absolute definition is in breach for 3rd lord in 8th

too. Though, I may like to believe that it is VRY (perfect one); but by

definition, it is not. Readers may assess it themselves:

Good compilation Mr. Sarajit. I agree 100% that VRY is quiet elusive and need an

extremely cautious approach. This is one area where I have to pause and think

and I am apprehensive about my interpretations. Anyway, we should investigate

further and share our experiences.

If Randhr’s Lord is in Randhr Bhava, the native will be long-lived. If the

said Grah is weak, being in Randhr Bhava, the longevity will be medium, while

the native will be a thief, be blameworthy and will blame others as well.

If Randhr’s Lord is in Vyaya Bhava, the native will spend on evil deeds

and will incur a short life. More so, if there be additionally a malefic in the

said Bhava.

12th lord

If Vyaya’s Lord is in Sahaj Bhava, the native will be devoid of fraternal

bliss, will hate others and will promote self-nourishment.

If Vyaya’s Lord is in Ari Bhava, the native will incur enmity with his own

men, be given to anger, be sinful, miserable and will go to others’ wives.

If Vyaya’s Lord is in Randhr Bhava, the native will always gain, will

speak affably, will enjoy a medium span of life and be endowed with all good

qualities.

If Vyaya’s Lord is in Vyaya Bhava, the native will only face heavy

expenditure, will not have physical felicity, be irritable and spiteful.

Dear Members,

What if the chart has Vipareeta Yoga and the lords of the dusthana

house conjunct in dusthana? For example, I have:

Lord of 6th Moon in 8th house Virgo. Also lord of 3rd house Mars in

8th house conjuncting 6th lord moon. What would that imply?

Thank you,

Prital

Dear Sarajit,

You are right, not all the results would necessarily be good. At he

same time much would depend on the planets and the Rasi in which they

are posited. The basic principle is a Lord of a dusthana in other

dusthana is capable of harming some of the ill effects of the Dusthana

that it tenants. For a VR yoga to be caused it is preferable that the

planet is weak.Better still if there is an exchange of house between

the two dusthana Lords.

Regards,

Chandrashekhar.

12th lord

If Vyaya’s Lord is in Sahaj

Bhava, the native will be devoid of fraternal bliss, will hate others

and will promote self-nourishment.

If Vyaya’s Lord is in Ari

Bhava, the native will incur enmity with his own men, be given to

anger, be sinful, miserable and will go to others’ wives.

If Vyaya’s Lord is in Randhr

Bhava, the native will always gain, will speak affably, will enjoy a

medium span of life and be endowed with all good qualities.

If Vyaya’s Lord is in Vyaya

Bhava, the native will only face heavy expenditure, will not have

physical felicity, be irritable and

spiteful.

"If Ari's Lord is in Randhr Bhava, the native will be sickly,

inimical, will desire others' wealth, be interested in others' wives

and be impure"

the above paragraph is not true in my case in the sense i am not at

all intrested in other's wealth and regarding other's wives,to some

extent but that too instantaneous(which is quite common for all those

who are actively controlled by their senses)-immediately i get

control over my senses.regarding impurity, i am impure because i am

born in kaliyuga.i am always in search of liberation. i dont know why

i have a strong aversion towards material life but still i am

compromising with it?

II Om Namo Nrayanaya II

Dear Sarajit, Namaste,

You r telling that third house is also a doohsthan. Whereas It is known that

only 6th, 8th and 12th house is called doohsthan . When lord of these houses

occupies any other house of doohsthan then it is called vipreet raja

yoga.Whereas 3rd house is an Upachaya Bhava.Occupation of a benefic planet is

not considered good in this bhava, on the contrary occupation of malefic

planets are considered good in this bhava. In your message you have included 3rd

bhava also as a doohsthan. Now I am fixed in confusion.Pls clear my doubt.

Dear Sarajit,

Thanks for the quotings from BPHS. Now you know my chart very well. Lagna Makara

with 3rd lord Guru in 3rd along with 6th and 9th lord Budha and 8th lord

Surya. The only bad thing was I lost my younger brother during his teens.By the

Grace of Lord Krishna and Mother Bhuvaneshwari, wealth came to me during Guru-

Shukra and then it continued till date.I am working in a Petroleum refinery as

a Process Technician and so I have to climb sometimes towers of 30 to 40 Metres

height. So I have got sufficient strength to do these jobs.I am not lazy and I

have good servant working in my house.

So as per me we have to look into Navamsha chart and we have to check Shadbala

and Vimshopaka Bala also.

I hope this helps.

With Shri Hari Vaayu naama Smarana,

We all know that vipareeta rajayoga brings a lot of benefit to a native by

sudden rise/ sudden benefit. However, this does not come without any cost.

Following paragraphs from Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, writes mostly negative

things for the placement of a Dusthana lord in another Dusthana.

Hello Lakshmiji,

>From AL, I have Ketu in 3rd, and Mercury in 8th (own house of

Gemini). And as a young child, I did not face any dangerous/life

threatening experiences. And I was quite a healthy child. Is it

possible that this could apply to my kids? Since lord of the 8th

Mercury is in 5th house from lagna?
