This excessive involbment with study of astrology is affecting other areas and professional responsibilities. The impulse is so strong that I can not keep the books off, and even in office I am logged on astro sites. Every body is complaining but I am helpless. IS THERE KARMIC RELATION? Pl Advice. DOB: 2nd Oct -1969 Time - 12:25 PM Longitude: 82E54 Lattitude: 25n08 Currently I am under RAHU pratyantar dasha under Jupiter Mahadasa. You can try the following. By the way this kind of thing happens from time to time to some people at least. 1-Set up a time for yourself for the study of Jyotish, like so much time in the evening. 2-When that time is up, of course there will be urge to continue, then you do the following; for at least 5 minutes, feel your body (keep your attention on the body), study the thoughts that you are having, and see if these are valid thoughts or not (most probably they will not be) 3-And then before starting Jyotish again, just relax, as much as you can. These will help you organize your studies. The thoughts you will see are not correct and valid. Like; "I have to finish this book", but then you will analyse this thought and see that it is not valid; like; yes like this you may finish that book, but at the same time you will run into more adverse consequences etc. anyway in Jyotish there are hundreds of books, no end to studying etc. For example being a little better Jyotishi in a little less span of time but let's say without a job, will not be a good alternative etc. I have not studied your chart, but sure enough this kind of thing will be seen there. Debiliated Sa in 5th and 5th lord in lagna with exalted Lagna lord in Navmansha you will be tempted to get in astrology but I think you should stop it till 2008 as till then it would be right time to earn a lot! Jyotisha is primarily ruled by Sun and Jupiter and brings the blessings of these two planets in the life of the person who tries to learn it or anyway associated with it. Going by the reasoning that at the time of difficulties no one stops worshipping god, similarly at such times, one should not stop Jyotish.
