Respected Mr. Weiss,

 

I would like to remind you that there is a specific

branch of Astrology by name Mundane Astrology which

deals with natural calamities, disasters and events

that are of general importance (not attached or

directed to a specific individual). Infact, the

revered astrologer Dr. B. V. Raman himself was an

expert in Mundane Astrology.

 

It is not that astrologers cannot predict such

disasters. Just because no astrologer predicted it in

advance, does not mean that the science should be

regarded as nonsense. I strongly feel that no

astrologer can give or come up with exhaustive

predictions unless he or she is given an indication or

direction to work up on. If that had happened, I am

sure that many of us in the group would have certainly

predicted the disaster very much in advance, given the

magnitude of damage that it inflicted on humanity.

 

Let us take the case of the US election as an example.

Many of us could predict the result correctly and come

up with wonderful justifications (which were exchanged

in the group mails) because we had a direction to work

up on. The occurence of the election (which is an

event) was the direction based on which we could carry

out our analysis to predict as to who would win the

same. As most of us are extremely focussed on the

horoscope in hand (which could be that of a person who

is in no way even remotely connected with the

disaster), events like these escape our notice.

 

Before closing, I am sure all members of the group

would have heard or read about the tsunami waves that

lashed the coastal regions of South East Asian

countries. The damage inflicted is beyond narration. I

would like to remind all you to contribute to the

relief work in whatever form possible, incase if you

have not already done so. Let's all pray to the

almighty that such disasters do not occur anymore.
