Dear All:

Wanted to add a few thoughts.

The way I understand 'karma', is that we are the creators of our lives,....for better or for worse.

In other words, we 'all', have some end to our longevity.

One of my favorite Saturn expressions goes like this: "planet Earth.... no one

gets out alive!"

Jyotish, for example, is able to show more precisely, that the 'karmas' as

indicated from our charts, do come true, especially as seen in individuals....

When you try to look at collective karmas, either through some 'charts' or even

family happenings, even tradegys.... the knowledge of Jyotish is more subtle.

The basic Jyotish chart that we're all aware of ..... is after all, only a 30

year, Saturn cycle, Chart.

In other words, if we were to look at the charts of 2 individuals.... we

couldn't really tell which was January 2nd,....of 1804,....and which one was

2104!

I've often believed there must be branches or aspects of Jyotish that we're not aware of....

that go to explain the karmas, of the decade or century that we're in....

In Vedic science, this may fall under 'yugas',...Philosophy.....

And finally, as far as believing in the fact or karma that people had to suffer....

we might just realize that things happen,.... to show us how better to evolve....

In other parts of the World, countries already are sharing advanced types of communications

as to violent storms that are occuring....

So, this event also is just part of Nature, and we're all learning how to

understand and respect Nature better.....

If a child says, I can fly, and is on the roof of our garage, a parent

says,....no child...you can't....

And even though the Mother goes back inside, and the child trys on their own, to fly....

only to find they fall down and break their leg.....

Is Nature or God cruel, because 'God' let that child break her leg?

No.... God didn't cause that action and re-action. The child did.

The child may not have known better, but the Mother was there. And the child

chose, to learn on their own.

Like that....we're all here, with many, many lessons to learn....

and we're either learning with the help of great parents, teachers, even Gurus....

or not...

but....Life is a school.... and it's not all just academic stuff....

What I love the most about Jyotish is it's helped me understand all the lessons

I was going through and facing, even if I didn't understand them!

And, then, as I learned how to understand them, I really began to learn

them,.... and then, the sufferings that I was going through .... went away!

Finally, there is a collective kind of karms, or destiny, certainly.....

experience,.... that also is part of life....

And on that day, were some dramatic negative forces, .....

The fact that not enough people were able to see the danger on the horizon,....

is just an inspiration for us to try harder and to refine our

Jyotish/Astrology....

so we can learn to see, all,....'dangers....on the horizon'.....

Even then, however, individuals will still have the choice to listen or not....

I remember when we had the viscious huricanes across the United States this

summer, and there were stories of individuals, who wouldn't go to the

shelters....and some even died, as a result of not heeding the warnings....

Our Earth is a beautiful place,....but....

it's also a very dangerous place....

And human life too, is very delicate....

We only have to hold our breath for 3 or 4 minutes and this physiology will die...

We go without food or water for a week or 2, and we perish....

We stay up too late, for even 3 or 4 nites, and we become deranged....

Is life cruel....?

No..... but,.... this physical existence.... has very definite, and important

perimeters.... to understand and follow....

Once we cooperate, better, with this rules and cycles,....we do best!

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid

[vedic astrology] Earthquake prediction- an affront to human sufferings

Dear Siva,

I totally agree with your view. The notion that hundreds of thousands had to

suffer because a so-called exhalted personage was subject to adharma is an

affront not to just rationality but to the religious tenets the world over.

I am amazed that we still hold on to the notion of a vengefull God, or here in

this case dispropriotanate sense of karma. To beleive in some way that God has

favourites is back ward thinking and not consistent with the concepts we learn

in jyotish.

Additionally it is also ethnocentric, To believe in some way the suffering of

Kanchi seer has to be balanced by suffering of hundreds of thousands from all

over south asia is totally ridiculous and reeks of religious fanatism.

Everything that happens is because of cause and effect. We learn that in Jyotish

and yet here we have discussions of how one particular event leading to

sufferings that affect thousands.

Siva is right. It belittles the suffering and allows for seemingly intellectual

rationalisation of human suffering.

Ajith

Adharma is expressed in various forms at various times by various people and culminates

What do we learn about in Vedanta ? That one man is no greater than the other.

That the atma that exists in one man, even if he is a saint is the same atma in

a sinner and that the jivatama is

Re: [vedic astrology] Re: Sreemad Raghavendra Theertha Swamiji Predicted Earth Quake

Dear Siva,

While, I agree that basic human values and common sense should prevail, why is

it all right to give it a go by in case of the pontiff? Your enlightening

comments would surely be appreciated.

I hope people like you refrain from making some unrelated generic

The arrest of Matathipathi Jeyandrar may or may not be dharmic - I dont

want to go into that discussion as I dont know him or the incidents that

led to him. However commenting that this disaster that has occurred (that

too in many countries) was a result of some arrest is insulting all the

helpless people that died and is inhuman. Please refrain from such comments

for your own personal sake. Atleast ask your common sense before posting

such non-sense that insults the Divine. Once we lose basic human values and

common sense, no Swami can save our spiritual growth.
