how should i read my navamsha chart?

Hi, I am an amateur, I would like to know what the importance of the

navamsha is. I have read two things; first it is important as an

indicator of ones inner being and second that it is important for the

spouse.

 

therefore, should I read the navamsha chart like the natal? besides

vargottama, are there any other specifics I should be looking for?

 

ex. I have ruler of the 2nd in 7th in my natal, but ruler of the 7th

in 2nd in my navamsha. do they cancel each other out?
