Conidtions for Hamsa Yoga Bhanga

Dear members,

 

Pancha mahapurusha yoga is not an infrequent yoga. But in many

cases we see that the persons lead ordinary life. Somewhere I read

that a Panchamahapurusha yoga becomes defunct or gets toned down if

the planet causing the yoga is with or aspected by the nodes or

Saturn or 8th lord. In essence, like many other yogas, the

panchamahapurusha yoga manifests fully or partially depending on the

dignity and strength of the planet causing the yoga, and the lord of

the house. My copy of Brihat Parasara Hora, translated by sri. G.S.

Kapoor says the following about Hamsa Yoga:

 

The Hamsa native has voice like a hamsa (swan), has a handsome

appearance and well developed nose. He is a king with phlegmatic

temparament, honey like tawny coloured eyes, red coloured nails,

sharp intelligence, sturdy cheeks, round forehead and beautiful

feet. He has marks of matsya(fish), ankush(iron hook), dhanus(bow),

sankh(conch), kamal(lotus) in his hands and feet. He is very

passionate and his lust remains unfulfilled. He is 96 anguls in

height. He is fond of swimming and playing games in watery places.

He enjoys life fully and as a ruler of land situated between the

Ganga and Yamuna dies after attaining the age of 100 years.

 

In the above description, we do not find anywhere qualities

like broadmindedness, being just, honoring elders, saints, being

dharmic, characteristics of jupiter. On the other hand we see the

person is very passionate and lustful which is the very anti thesis

of Jupiter the planet of divine wisdom. The bottom line is

Jayalalitha's hamsa yoga need not make her a person who upholds

dharma in letter and spirit.

 

Jupiter is not considered an auspicious planet for Gemini

ascendant. As pointed out by other learned members, Jupiter suffers

from Kendradhipatya dosha and being staioned in 7th is a potent

maraka. He is aspected by rahu from Aries. Unfortunately, seventh

house is the badhakastana for Gemini lagna and jupiter being badhaka

is stationed in bhadhaka house. May be it prevented her from getting

married. My understanding is badhaka lord, planets with it and the

planets in badhaka house indicate the obstructions caused by

previous birth sins. Jupiter's situation as badhaka in badhakasthana

may show dishonoring or causing trouble to elders,saints, religious

institutions, spouse in previous birth.

 

The 10th house (karmasthan) which represents the work/public

work and fame, no doubt has exalted Venus causing Malavya yoga but

it is sandwiched on one side by Sun and on the other side by Rahu.

When the 10th house has papakarthari, one can not expect the person

to perform good karma. Moreover 10th house and Venus are aspected by

Mars which can make the person very aggreesive and proactive in

action.

 

Time and again, she humilated, insulted and harassed almost

every one who crossed her path or criticized her. People may still

remember how she humiliated Sri. Vajpayee during 1998-1999. During

her second tunure of cheifministership, she jailed karunanidhi, and

put Vaiko behind bars and filed many cases against the news paper

The Hindu. In fact Tamil nadu police went to Bangalore to take the

editor of the paper N. Ram into custody without the knowledge of

Karnataka police. Only supreme court intervention saved the day and

the Central government provided CISF security to the news paper

because they were not sure of Tamil nadu police.

 

During 1999 when trnsit Rahu was exactly on her natal saturn and

transit saturn was in Aries where natal Rahu is, after lot of drama,

she withdrew support to sri.Vajpayee and caused the 1999 elections.

Of course she lost her clout with central government. Now the

trnasit saturn has retrograded in Cancer where her natal saturn is

and transit rahu is in Aries where her natal rahu is.

 

In Kanchi swami's horoscope, transit jupiter is in the 8th house

from moon. Moreover the October solar eclipse occured in Virgo

having transit jupiter, transit sun, transit venus and transit mars.

With so many planets in transit in the 8th house from moon and an

eclipse occuring there when Dasa and bhkthi are not very good can

cause lot of bad things. A clear picture about the murder may emerge

by the time jupiter leaves Virgo and the Kanchi seer may come out

unscathed.

 

Transit saturn has become retrograde on the exact degree of

natal moon in Indian independence horoscope. The country no doubt is

having searing experiences. 30 years back, in 1975 when Saturn

entered Cancer emergency was imposed on the country. But Saturn

before leaving cancer, punished the rulers by defeating congress and

Mrs.Indira gandhi and heralding a new era. For the first time in

post independence history, there was a non-congress government. I

only hope Saturn will punish the wrong doing rulers before he leaves

Cancer in 2006.

 

Ravana was a great devotee of lord Shiva. He was also a great

musician who standardized veena and an expert in singing Sama veda.

He might have had some of these pancha mahapursha yogas, but that

did not make him a dharmic person.
