#2 chart ruler question

Some of my thoughts below…

 

 

Hi,

 

I am new to this group. I have been studying western astrology for several

years but am fairly new to jyotish.

 

I am trying to learn by using my own chart --and I cannot quite figure

out my chart ruler-

You are Libra rising, ruled by Venus.

 

 

 

 

 

I am studying david frawley's correspondence course in vedic astrology and

was trying to figure out the most powerful planet in my chart

Per my learning, the AtmaKaraka (one having the highest degrees in a

house) will be the reason for one's birth.

 

 

 

 

and what planet rules my body so that I can know my general state of

health-

Venus is going to play a strong role relating to your health.

The Sun is the natural significator for the first house.

Each planet plays a role relating to the body.

Subdivisional charts will also reveal more.

There are several layers of Jyotish, and all have to be taken in account.

 

 

 

 

 

The correspondence books say for women(which I am) that the moon and

planets connecting with it are important (which I have moon and saturn

in rohini conjunct in taurus in the eighth house)

If you have born a child, you are a Mother, signified by the Moon. If

not, you are represented by Venus. Likewise for a male, if unmarried,

he is represented by Mars. If a Father, then he is signified by Jupiter.

 

Yes – conjunctions are important. Conjunctions reflect dynamic forces

interacting with each other in a certain environment (House / sign of

the zodiac).

 

 

 

and the lord of the sixth and where it is located (lord of the sixth

is jupiter conjunct rahu located in the third house of

saggitarius-)-and my ascendant is libra in swati (which is also ruled

by rahu)—

I am not understanding your chain of thoughts here…..

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have read that rahu is not good for the health and neither are

planets in the

8th house and especially if afflicted---

(I have mercury and venus in the 2nd house in scorpio and mars in the

1st in

libra)—

Rahu can eclipse the Sun.

Ketu can eclipses the Moon.

Perhaps this is the reason why.

 

Lord of the 6th should be seen for the HOUSE it is affecting, i.e.

Jupiter in the 3rd House.

 

Lord of the 8th should be seen for the SIGN it is affecting, i.e.

Taurus in Scorpio.

 

The above is where one would have to be careful in terms of health.

there is so much to learn and it is difficult without physical contact

with a teacher- so I apologize if I am asking too many questions at

once-- it is just so that I can get a basic grasp on my own chart--in

western astrology mars is my chart ruler (mars in scorpio in 1st

house) but it doesn' look like it is to me according to jyotish nor

did I ever find myself to truly fit the typical description of someone

with this chart ruler.

Glad to see that you can distinguish between the signs, and are more

familiar with them. The planets in the Quadrants (Houses 1, 4, 7, 10)

shape the personality. Eventually, you will learn about the Arudha

Lagna (AL) and how one perceives who is Dharma.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I would appreciate any insight that would further help me to learn

 

~also I was wondering in a chart such as this --could the health be

adversely affected by the mind?
