Fwd: Ayanamsha 2

There seems to be exciting exchange of knowledge on the Ayanamsa, I am not as

learned as you all, here is my second contribution in terms of forwarding from

the angle of a NASA scientist.

I received mail from Sunil saying that before fixing ayanamsha we should first

come to a definite fix on which option to use in the dasa's, Savana or 360 deg

or 365.24 and then go about researching on the ayanamsa.

Can Shri Chandrashekhar give us some information re various texts and what they

have propogated re the years to be taken in the dasa.

10 May 2004 In 1993 in my first tour of USA, an Indian in a high post in

NASA came to meet with his wife, for some discussion and for the readings of

his and his wife’s horoscope. “What ayanamsha do you use ?” he had asked

me. “Lahiri,” I said. He was relieved and told me that it was the only

ayanamsha that worked astrologically and astronomically. He was brilliant and

gave many scintillating arguments. I wish I had more time to spend with him. He

also had to rush back. He came to meet me next year also and had told me that

Lahiri Ayanamsha would have to be adjusted by two to five minutes sometime or

the other. He is an astronomer who also did some astrology. I cannot recollect

whether he meant plus or minus two to five minutes of adjustment. But

sometimes, I also feel that there will have to be some adjustment. But it is

for others now to do it. My age and my
