Planet in Orion

DALLAS (AP) - Astronomers have discovered a planet orbiting a star in the

constellation Orion - without ever actually seeing it. They watched the star,

about 140 light-years or roughly 800 trillion miles away, and deduced the

presence of a planet by how much the star wiggled.

The planet, called HD 37605b, is a gas giant at least 2.8 times the mass of

Jupiter. HD 37605b zips around its star - HD 37605, near the bright star

Betelgeuse - once every 54 days.

It is 123rd planet known beyond the solar system.
