Guest guest
||Shri GaneshDattaGurubhyo Namah|| Dear Raman Suprajarma, Thanks for your explanation on ayanamsa. Now can you give us the formula for calculating epoch basically? (Born on 1981: Ayanamsa = (1981-epoch)*50 1/3 reduced to degrees, minutes and seconds ) Also this value of 50 1/3 is varying with scholars. What I've asked for is on the basis of KP ayanamsa calculation theory & they have given their all logic in nice way. I'm expecting the same from you so as all of us will get benefited with your knowledge! Also in case of KP ayanamsa we genereally deduct 6min 5.4 sec from Lahiri & get KP ayanamsa this is generally used by many softwares but if you see thier formula the ayanamsa is different from which we are getting for this year!! (For this year 2004 if we take option KP ayanmsa in JHL free version we get 23:48:47.66 but if we use KP formula for ayanamsa we get 23:49:36 for this year 2004 So learned members & Gurus Pls throw some light ) Also You have started a very interesting subject !! A fixed star for north pole!! I don't know much about it but want to give you the hint!! What about Abhijit? Say if you can go 12,000 or more yrs back using this calculations Just do this labor & tell us who is the fixed star for north pole? Also why epoch is having variations per year? (I know this is just a basic question but may prove vital) & it's relation for North Pole Fixed Star!! I'm having one more doubt should we have to calculate the ayanamsa upto Date of Birth(Generally we take upto Year of birth only)? I'm requesting all Gurus and learned members to guide us to understand the topic "Ayanamsa"!!! Raghuvir Smaran!! Vinay Patwardhan Mumbai "Raman Suprajarama" <cru115@n...> Tue May 11, 2004 8:32 am Ayanamsa Click Here Namasthe! I hope my small understanding of Ayanamsa will be of help. Ayanamsa is the difference (as measured at an epoch) between Hindu first point and the vernal Equinox. An epoch marks the beginning of new historical periods. The exact period is not known but some of the dates that are said to have this coincidence are 361AD, 394 AD, 397AD, 498 AD and 559AD. This is calculated when the Sun reaches a particular point in the Equinox, when throughout the world, the duration of the day/night is equal. At this time, the position of the earth to some fixed star (I request scholars to throw more light on identifying this fixed star) is 50 1/3 “. Accordingly, Ayanamsa is calculated by Subtracting the epoch with the Year of birth and multiplying it by 50 1/3”. The product got is reduced to degrees, minutes and seconds. Eg: Born on 1981: Ayanamsa = (1981-epoch)*50 1/3 reduced to degrees, minutes and seconds There are many values give to Ayanamsas today. The best way to find out which is better is by self experimenting rather than asking others. Revered Dr. Raman used the Raman Ayanamsa and he is known for his remarkable and accurate predictions. There are still others scholars who use different Ayanamsa and get astonishing results. I personally use Raman Ayanamsa in stock market forecasts, which require high degree of accuracy, and have been successful. I invite scholars to discuss more on this.
