Mars(Kartikeya) is not a brahmachari

Dear respected gurus and fellow jyotishas,

 

I am a beginner in jyotish. So forgive me for intruding. But as far as i

know the Skanda purana and several others indicate that Kartikeya has two

wives. Valli and Devayani. Secondly, His fleeing away from Kailasa has

nothing to do with marriage. In one version Sage Narada presented a fruit

and Shiva and paravati at a loss on whom to pass it to, indicated that

whoever travels areound the world thrice, would be the winner. Kartikeya

left on his peacock, while Ganesha simply went round his parents thrice and

symbollicaly won. Ganesha further did not marry, but like all Hindu

dieties, have consorts as a reflection of Purusha and Prakriti. I am not

too sure what implication one can draw for Jyotish here.

 

Well to me at least, the issue of Kartikeya represnting Tamas and not being

a brahmachari is purely allegorical.
