Star TV has surpassed Nakkeeran in Tamil Nadu. Their telecast of an

alleged confession by His Holiness raises several important issues.

 

1. Police interrogation of His Holiness in police custody was held

in-camera. It is not open to any one else and certainly not to any

media.

2. Police claim all the investigations have been videographed.

3. If Star TV is indeed in possession of this video, why is it that

they are not telecasting the tape with complete visuals and audio

track, instead of resorting to graphics and voice over commentary?

4. Why did they telecast this in part on day one and subsequently

add the dramatising parts referring to His Holiness crying and

making a confession?

5. Appearing in the Saidapet Court on 26.11.2004 His Holiness stated

that "the allegation that he had instigated an assault on three

persons was false and that he has been falsely implicated in the

case for ulterior reasons". He has also said that the Sankara Raman

case was foisted on him for ulterior reasons.

6. In his order dated 20.11.2004 Justice R. Balsubramaniam said

that "The government is right that it is not bound to give all the

details to the petitioner at this stage." When something is denied

to the accused on legal grounds, no prosecution will destroy its own

case by handing over such an important tape to the media at this

stage.

7. Apparently Star TV has taken this story from Nakkeeran issue

dated November 24-27, 2004. This is purely a speculation on the part

of the magazine on what could have happened in the investigation.

The article also claims that the Acharya said that he would commit

suicide. Such is the credibility of the publication.

8. It is obvious that this story is the figment of imagination of

the media which is hungry for sensational stories to increase

circulation and viewership. What colour their journalism takes does

not seem to matter.

9. The Mutt is in consultation with its legal counsel exploring the

possibility of a restraint order against such irresponsible media

behaviour.

 

 

 

It is a battle to be fought with patience and proper planning.

 

It is important for all of us to understand some legal nuances.

 

1. The point to be remembered is that any statement made to the

police during investigation by a person in police custody does not

have any evidentiary value in the court.

2. When the petitioner comes to court to the witness box in the

trial court and gives a statement on oath, only that becomes the

evidence to convict or acquit the petitioner/accused.

3. In a case of circumstantial evidence, it is a difficult job for

any prosecution to prove the guilt of the accused, to the hilt.

 

Therefore let us not get unduly swayed or worried by such slander.

Given this the only thing all of us can do is to be patient and be

stead-fast in our faith. These are not easy times and there are no

quick solutions.

 

Let us be prepared for this unholy onslaught on our sensibilities

and devotion. But never ever should we allow fear, panic and doubt

to erode our faith and devotion.

Dear Nameisego,

 

The so-called interrogation reports that you allude to are absolute

hogwash, if I can say so.

 

First,these interrogation reports have not been authorized by any

investigating agency and should merely be be treated as "sensational

rumours" like the nonsense about the waiting helicopter to Nepal that

the Swamiji was going to jump into ala an MGR :-))

 

Second,it is highly disturbing to see a reasonably reputed TV station

like STAR replay this silly garbage emanating from the likes of SUN

TV and other vernacular magazines without even a cursory checking of

facts and authentication of sources. Whilst no one expects Star to be

a BBC, basic journalistic integrity and competence is expected of

them (neither integrity or competence is expected from SUN and their

ilk).

 

Third,even if there had been such an interrogationa and the Swamiji

had indeed "confessed", it still is NOT EVIDENCE (I hope this is

dinned firmly into your head). For it to possess evidentiary value,

either the Swamiji must sign it and attest it or alternatively, state

those very words in the stand if and when called by the prosecution

or the defence.

 

Fourth, it would have to be a very incompetent prosecution and police

force that "leaks" such potentially explosive material before the

trial PUBLICLY to all and sundry in order to provide ample time and

opportunity for the defence counsel to tear it to shreds.

 

Lastly,if these are the straws that you are clutching at to establish

your astrological credentials (HP or otherwise), then I am afraid you

cut a very sorry figure, indeed.

I agree with what you say. Star news haas released different versions

of what His Holiness said and the one quoted is just one of them. Their

credibility is at new low.

I agree!

Star TV et al are not to be believed.If any of you have seen a movie called as

"Enemy of the State" then you will recall that the first weapon used is to

discredit the targeted person.Once that is done the person loses credibility

and 2 birds are killed with one stone.

That is what is happening to Swamiji!

By the way my previous Chara dasa calculation has been rectified by me with a little help.

I have posted the same on my website but for the benefit of other list members:

I have the following Dasa antardasa sequence .

Hence Meena dasa is going on from 18 July 2003.The corresponding antardasa is

that of Karka from 18 September 2004. Meena is the 6th dasa from the position

of Atmakaraka Jupiter in the Rashi chart and Karka the antardasa has Sun the

Gnathikaraka in it .

Hence Meena dasa is going on from 18 July 2003.The corresponding antardasa is

that of Karka from 18 September 2004. Meena is the 6th dasa from the position

of Atmakaraka Jupiter in the Rashi chart and Karka the antardasa has Sun the

Gnathikaraka in it signifying Royal disfavour and sudden fall.

The doubt arose in my mind after the first Chara dasa analysis about the

calculation and after a through check and past correlation I have presented

this proper dasa calculation.

Note that the antardasa sequence in the Mithuna dasa(from 7/1982 to 7/1994) was

as follows:

Vrishabha till 18/7/1983, Mesha till 18/7/1984, Meena till 18/7/1985,

Kumbha till 18/7/1986 and Makar till18/7/1987.

Note that from 18/7/1987 till 18/7/1988 the antardasa of Dhanus who has Rahu in

it was going on.This is the 12th house from lagna and has the Atmakaraka in the

12th from it.This is the period in which the Shakaracharya left his Mutt and was

somewhat untraceable for sometime.

I think that this analysis should be proved right as time goes by.
