Guest guest
||| Hare Rama Krishna ||| Dear Jeyaram, Allow me to better explain what I have understood… Our definitions of Baadhak differ. http://www.srath.com/lectures/badhak01.htm However, we can look beyond the technicalities, and try to better understand what is actually going on in the chart(s). Comments below… For every horoscope there need not necessarily be a bhadaka. For a planet to become a Bhadaka it should satisfy the following two conditions simultaneously: 1.It should be the 11th lord (for movable signs) or 9th lord (for fixed signs) or 7th lord (for common signs) 2.Mandi or 22nd Drekkana Lord should be in the signs owned by them. [Via NK] Point 1 is universal and we are in agreement. However, as I have discussed in the past, point 2 only adds to the scenario of obstacles. The link I reference above mentions consideration of Mandi or the 22nd Drekkana. Logically, if a Baadhak Planet (as per point 1) should satisfy point 2, then the **intensity** of the environment will naturally increase. I leave this for research for any student of the stars, just as I myself am learning. So it's very clear that all horoscopes need not necessarily have a Bhadaka. [Via NK] There remain differences in definition. While there are 2 sides to a coin, there are several angles to the same pyramid. Also the effect of a Badhaka lord will be felt only if it triggers (by position, aspect or conjunction) other bad parameters in the horoscope. [Via NK] Each planet has a role to play in a chart. Each will play out its results at the appropriate time. We are in agreement of the philosophy of timing. I tend to stay away from words such as "good" or "bad" as they are subjective and do not fully capture the essence of what is being imparted to us… Baadhas are obstacles, and need not connotate the negative or destruction. Sometimes Baadhas to rivals work in one's favor. An entire chart has to be taken into perspective. The link I provided above provides about 5 examples, in different scenarios. Baadhas also help one to overcome, and progress ahead. (These are subjective views.) However, BADHAKA can be destructive in a PRASNA chart!!! [Via NK] Why just prasna? Are we deviating from your definition of the 2 points, or do they remain the same? If there are any mistakes in the above, the mistakes are mine and not of anyone else. In a hope of humility, with great respect, Best wishes and warm regards, Nitin. || Namah Shivaaya ||
