Request for list of Primary & Secondary Karakas

Namaste Gurus and Learned Members,

May I request you to please provide me a list of Primary & Secondary Karakas of the Houses.

For example:-

House--------> Prmary Karaka(s)---------->Secondary Karaka(s)1st House-->

Sun------------------------------> ??4th House-->

Moon----------------------------> ??9th House-->

Jupiter---------------------------> ??10th House-> Sun,Merc,Sat and Jup---> ??

I presume you are looking for an authentic list. This is far from it. Let me

however make an attempt;

 

1H: Primary signification is Tanu/deha and hence Sun. The other significations

are appearance, beauty (Venus), intellect (Mercury), Roopa and Fame (Moon),

Vigor (Mars).

4H: Apart from Moon for Mother the other significations are happiness (Jupiter),

Vehicles and physical pleasures (Venus), Land (Mars), House (Ketu).

9H: Bhagya and Dharma are the primary significations and hence Jupiter is the

Primary Karka. Other significations are Father (Sun), Long distance travel

(Venus). Moon is also a secondary significator of the house.

10H: I think Saturn is considered primary karka for the house being karmakarka.

Other significations are Profession and career (Mercury), Prosperity (Jupiter),

Power, Honor, reputation, father (Sun).

 

I am not sure if I have read about secondary karkas for the 1H. I have

essentially used similar logic as given by Sanjayji for other houses in COVA.

Kindly correct me in case of an error.

Dear Raghu,

How are you? The clarity of the karakas comes with that

understanding of what they really are.Karaka is that which gives something to

that house or is the significator of that property of that house.

Lagna- Sun for physical health, Mars for strength, Jupiter for

knowledge or the awareness of knowledge and retaining it, Mercury for

intellegence and skin etc.Out of this offcourse the physical presence of the

lagna becomes most important as without this the lagna will not exist [ Sun-

Primary] and then knowledge and memory [Jupiter], the Dhi or the intelegence

[Mercury]and [Mars] strenght are Secondry karakas.

Similarly:

Primary

Secondry

2nd house--> Jupiter for kula and wealth.

3rd house-->Mars for strength or the ability to give us parakrama.

4th House--> Moon for mother and Venus for comforts both these comprise of the sukha bhav.

5th house-->Jupiter for children,mantras, education.

6th house-->Mars for the ability to fight with our enemies and Shani to make us

pay for that shad ripu and servants that work hard for us or at times our own

ability to serve others in a job.

7th house-->Venus for marrige and sex.

8th house-->Shani for longevity.

9th House--> Jupiter for Guru the one who guides us towards dharma and Sun for father.

10th House-> Mercury is the primary karaka as without communication and

intellegence we cannot work and Sun and Mars are secondry since this is also

karma bhav.

11th house--> Jupiter for gains.

12th house-->Rahu and Shani for pitris, spirits and spirituality.

I am sure the gurus will fill me in if I left out something.I also want to thank

all of you who replied to my earlier email regarding the boy who had left his

home.I am glad to let all of you know that he is safe and back home.Thankyou
